How much do you know about science and the Bible?
Answer these questions in the next 10 MINUTES! There is a separate test for creationists and "evolutionists" (don't like that word). Creationists must honestly answer the question as an "evolutionist" would answer the question. (ie. Does evolution happen? Yes.) and vice versa with "evolutionists".
If you're a Christian who accepts evolution take whatever test you want. =P

No sarcastic answers.

Creationist test:

1) What does DNA stand for?
2) How old is the earth?
3) When did the dinosaurs live?
4) How old is the universe?
5) What is the nearest star after the sun?
6) Is natural selection random?
7) Is our nearest common ancestor shared with modern chimpanzees?
8) How many kinds of radiometric dating methods are there?
a) 0-5 b) 6-10 c) 10-15 d) more than 15
9) Why is the one kind of radiometric dating (Carbon 12 & 14) not used for dating the age of the earth?
10) Named three different species in the genus Homo?

Fine Quiz: Creationists how much do you know about evoltuionists? Evolutionists, how much do you know about creationists?

Stop picking at semantics.

2007-10-22 10:28:24 · update #2

That's what atheists believe, what else could we believe but the facts and evidence giving through science? Would you rather believe Lamarck's evolution hypothesis? Would you rather believe that the age is some arbitrary age rather than the age that scientists give?

Give me a break.

2007-10-22 10:31:33 · update #3

So atheists know more about the Bible or the creationists' beliefs than creationists know about science.

That's what I thought. Good day.

You seem to have mostly scared off the Christians. My sincere respects to the brave lad who gave it a good try (below).

And LMFAO at the buffoons who put "6000 years". Come on, people, can't you ever give it a rest and admit to the truth? You didn't see us write "Jonah was never in a whale" or "Noah died at a normal age, but the Bible claims he lived 900 years".

I'm an atheist and I support the theory of evolution. But do not confuse one for the other.

“Evolutionists” test:
1) Where did Moses receive his ten commandments?
From god at the top of the mountain after he and the Israelites fled from Egypt and parted the red sea.
2) How many Apostles were there? Twelve
3) Roughly how many books are there in the Bible?
More than 40?
4) How many years did Adam live? Around 900.
5) Where was Jesus baptized? Not sure -- some religious art depicts him being baptized by John the Baptist, the son of Elizabeth who was friends with Mary.
6) How long was Jonah in the belly of the fish? Three days.
7) On the first day of creation, what did God do? Said "let there be light."
8) How did Judas, the betrayer, die? He hung himself after finding an animal corpse along the road.
9) How long was Noah's ark? No idea.
10) Who was born first, Cain or Abel? I think Cain the murderer might have been the younger brother, but I am not certain.

I'm an atheist, so I'll take the "evolutionist's" test.

1) Where did Moses receive his ten commandments? - On Mt. Sinai
2) How many Apostles were there? -15; The original 12; Paul; Barnabus (Act 14.14); Jesus (Heb. 3.1)
3) Roughly how many books are there in the Bible? - 66 in the Protestant Bible
4) How many years did Adam live? - 930
5) Where was Jesus baptized? - the Jordan River
6) How long was Jonah in the belly of the fish? - 3 days & 3 nights
7) On the first day of creation, what did God do? - Created the heavens and the earth; created light; saw that the light was good; separated the light from the darkness; called the light day and the darkness night.
8) How did Judas, the betrayer, die? - (1) Hanged himself - Matt. 27. 5; (2) Fell down on a field he purchased and his Bowels gushed out. - Acts 1.18 - Take your pick.
9) How long was Noah's ark? - 300 cubits (about 450 feet)
10) Who was born first, Cain or Abel? - Cain

Of course, this is all assuming that the Bible is correct.

Edit: - I suspect that more atheists know about the Bible because many of us used to be Christians.

I am an agnostic/atheist, thanks to 9 years of christian schooling. It's the christians' fault that I believe their religion is a farce, but anyway here we go:

1) Where did Moses receive his ten commandments?
Mount Sinai
2) How many Apostles were there?
12
3) Roughly how many books are there in the Bible?
60 to 70 I think
4) How many years did Adam live?
Don't know
5) Where was Jesus baptized?
Jordan River
6) How long was Jonah in the belly of the fish?
3 days
7) On the first day of creation, what did God do?
Make light
8) How did Judas, the betrayer, die?
umm he killed himself? Don't know that either
9) How long was Noah's ark?
40 days/nights
10) Who was born first, Cain or Abel?
Cain

Evolutionist

1) Mt. Sinai
2) 12
3) I don't know.
4) I don't know this either -- something like 900.
5) I don't know.
6) I don't know.
7) He created light.
8) He hung himself.
9) I don't know. A lot of cubits.
10) Cain was born first.

In all fairness, I wouldn't do much better on the other test. Shall I reveal my ignorance of science, too? Why not? I don't mind sharing my ignorance with the good people of Y!A.

1) (can't spell it) Dioxyribonucleaic acid (or something)
2) It's like, 5 billion years old. Maybe not.
3) Uuh...I don't know a start and end date. 100 million years BC (Not such a great movie, really)
4) Something like 15 billion years old.
5) Alpha Centauri. Unless it's not.
6) No. Natural selection is not random.
7) No, I think our nearest common ancestor is closer to the great apes.
8) I think "A" -- 0 to 5
9) It's only good up to 5,000 years or some such.
10) Homo habilus (sp.?), Homo erectus, Homo sapiens

Evolution is not a specific association with being an Atheist. It is just the explanation I can best accept at this point. If a scientist gave me a better explanation tomorrow I'd read about it and decide if it makes sense and if they did their due diligent work on it.

As for your questions.... It's been more than 15 years since I spent any time reading the bible. I know a few of the answers off the top of my head the rest I'd have to look up. I could answer almost all of the science questions though.

Mom's father was a preacher, so I know much about the Bible and Chistianity. One of your questions for evolutionists is ambiguous. Judas is said to have died by hanging and by falling in different passages. Noah's ark was 300 cubits long. Moses was on Mt. Sinai. Jesus had 12 apostles. The ones for evolutionists were cut off and I forget the others. EDIT: Adam lived 930 years. Jonah was in a beast's belly 40 days and nights.
