Political correctness, ban on political commentary, shutting down of debate, sexual harassment guidelines, encoding of speech, using the right to protest to limit debate, censor art,

Is it not hypocritical to use one's right to freedom of speech to further a view while blocking other's rights in the process? How can one group have freedom to extoll their views while censoring others, including neo-cons and religious conservatives, who also have a right to free speech? People confuse like and dislike with legal and illegal status in law. They have now censored religious expression, e.g. banning a cross or Buddhist symbol in a park, and art, taking down paintings and sculptures of nudes, etc. How can someone protest freedom of speech when they need freedom of speech and the right to protest in order to launch their protest, while calling for censorship?

what does this statement mean to you?

"HE WHO HAS TWO SHIRTS WHILE ANOTHER HAS NONE IS NOT A CHRISTIAN."

if you really believed the righteousness you spout, why do you have a computer and an internet connection? you could sell those and feed the less fortunate. why do you have any material positions at all? your reward comes in the next life right?

if you guys really believed you could go to heaven for living like a Christian, why aren't you all in Africa or 3rd world nations mother Teresa style?

I have 1 on my shoulder, planning on getting another on the other shoulder. I'll probably get some text across the lower back down the road.

I don't think they're evil myself, I like them.

If you do then where was the "true" church hiding between Constantine and the Reformation? The Catholic Church saved the Bible and educated most of the Reformers (Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, Thomas Cranmer, Roger Williams, Menno Simons and many more). How can you trust the Bible and the Reformers if their teachers were so awful?

I'm not saying they were wrong to rebel just that your virulent dislike (bordering on hatred) really makes you sound like nasty, petulent children throwing a temper tantrum.

There are also less easily identified diseases which are closely related such as technophobia, sciencephobia and educationphobia. It would be this century's greatest achievment if we could rid society of these atrocious diseases. Do you care about your childrens future?

I just got a phone call for a job offer to be a Methodist Minister. I have heard that everyone has their price.

Though I disagree with Methodist on various doctrines, $107,000 per year is tempting. (3 x's what I make now)

And yes it was a real job offer.

I won't actually take the offer, I just thought this was amusing. What do you think? SHould I take it? LoL

Most Catholics that I know aren't "saved" or "born again" in the sense of the word as I know it (the sense that I know it isn't the fundie sense either, fundies are not my faves!). I was born a Roman Catholic and was saved earlier this year, spontaneously graced with Baptism of the Holy Spirit with wisdom and fire 18 hours later. Although always a Catholic at heart, I now consider myself a Gnostic Christian Universalist.

As a Catholic, being "saved" is not a part of the traditional practices of Catholicism, yet I know you're out there. How did you come to be saved? What was your experience? How do fellow Catholics view you? Have you stayed with your Roman Catholic church or found something different?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Jesus told us to say that when we pray, according to Scripture, so did he mean to just say it once in our lives or should we say it every day? How does this relate to the admonishment against repetition?

Are they really afraid that evolution will somehow devalue thier place on Earth?
Are they really afriad that they won't go to heaven?
Just what is the threat that causes them to overlook a huge body of evidence supporting evolution. Evoution just has to be one of the most beautiful laws (not theory as the general public uses the word) in science.

I'm not asking this in the "Science" category because I'm familiar with those agruments

i hoped it will be real..
i am afraid of these huge buildings much biggere and taller then me..so i hoped that after that earthquake ..no one will buid again..such towers..
when i go to the countriside..the houses seen from the street are as tall as me..and the sky is above..me and can be seen..in the city..i am walking in the streets with all those towers in my head..there have been earthquakes..people have died,.and still they buid such buildings..they don't care about those who will die..in a possible earthquake that will exceed their measures ..because they cannot limit God..in degrees..they have no responsability at all..
so i hoped at least the earthquake from the end it was real..maybe i am stupid..but i think it is better to be on the side of God..then say:''aww,,..there will never be an end..'' or..''awww..an earthqauke..hundreds of people have been killed .in the earthquake'' says the news..an eartqauke cannot kill..only somebody who has a plan to kill kills
