Faith comes from God and is not good deeds. Our good deeds are what we do in response to God's faith.

We are saved by God's grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ (His perfect life, suffering, death & resurrection for our righteousness & salvation from sin, death & the power of the devil) alone.

It is a great reminder that even the faith we have, has been given to us by the Holy Spirit, so we have no room for boasting that we had *any* part in our salvation. We have no room to make faith into an active verb, but we receive God's salvation by grace *passively*. This passage also eliminates our tendency to make faith into the object of our faith, which would tear a whole in the pure Gospel & make Christ's all atoning sacrifice into nothing.

Jesus said that unless you become like one of these children you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. If you look at an infant this is the ultimate picture of how utterly we depend on God: Father, Son & Holy Spirit for life both physical & spiritual. Jesus also uses this imagery in John 3 when He is talking to Nicodemus.

The verse speaks about salvation by grace. Grace is unmerited favor. We are saved by grace through faith. not our own faith, our own faith (belief. acknowledgement) is a work:

1 Thessalonians 1:3 - Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

2 Thessalonians 1:11 - Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

Our own faith is not the faith of substance; the saving faith is the faith OF (not in) Christ:

Galatians 2:16 KJV: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith OF Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith OF Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

This goes to the mystery of God's good providence and His plan of election from before the foundation of the world:

2 Timothy 1:9 - Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

The Gift of God is Christ in us, the Hope of Glory. You can have this gift if you will receive Him into your heart. This is not something you can earn. If salvation could have come through the law or ten commandments, Jesus never would have died. The Bible declares that their is none righteous, no not one. The wages of sin is death. Jesus payed the price for our sins. He became sin that we could become the righteousness of God. All we have to do is to realize our need for this righteousness and receive Him into our hearts. It's a gift and completely free, not by works lest any man should boast.

Salvation is a free gift from God and you can never work enough to gain it, because it comes by faith in Jesus.

You can't give enough money. You can't feed enough hungry.
You can't clothe enough nakedness. You can't build enough churches. You can't cast out enough demons.

It is as simple as looking to Jesus for Salvation - saving faith.
We come just as we are and when the Holy Spirit comes in He starts purifying and refining us. He convicts us of our sins and He starts taking it away. We need to read the Bible because the Holy Spirit teaches us all things and brings the Word of God to our remembrance. Before long you start hating sin because it separated you from Him. There is no way we can do what the Holy Spirit does. But what He begins in us He is more than able to finish. Just trust in Him.

The battlefield is in the mind. Keep your mind and eyes on Jesus and dodge the fiery darts coming your way.

True ! Eternal salvation is offered by our loving Master Jesus Christ who Created this universe and all of us.

See and fully believe Jesus in John 12:31-32. Few today dare to teach that; but each day here, in Spirit and in Truth, more do !

This whole world needs most to know that each and every human person is now a divinely beloved son or daughter of God in Jesus Christ fully here in Spirit ! John 16:7-16 Rev 21:3-7

It means that even our faith is a gift of God, and it's by His grace
(unmerited favor) that He offers us this gift of salvation.

We are saved by grace, through faith. We are not saved by our good works
