WOW! MAJORITY OF THE PPL ON THIS ARE TOTALLY IGNORANT. ACCORDING TO THE HALAL WAY MEAT IS SLAUGHTERED THROUGH THE JUGULAR VEIN SO THE ANIMAL FEELS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF PAIN. AND RIGHT BEFORE THEY SLAUGHTER IT THEY JUST SAY "IN THE NAME OF GOD"
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THAT??
I'M SURE EVERYONE ELSE SLAUGHTERS THEIR MEAT IN SOME RETARDED WAY LIKE JUST CUTTING IT FROM ANYWHERE AND IT'S ALLOWED TO DIE SLOWLY. SICKOS!!! THAT'S ANIMAL CRUELTY.
JUST LET HER KNOW THAT SHE'S BEING IGNORANT AND THAT MUSLIMS LIKE TO EAT FRESH MEAT THAT WAS KILLED HUMANELY.
AND IF SHE STILL DOESN'T LIKE IT, WHO CARES?!?!
THESE MUSLIM HATERS NEED TO STOP DRINKING THAT HATERADE!!!!!!!!!

No-one might desire to consume Halal meat, because it comes from animals slaughtered inhumanely, that's against the regulation and immoral. Governments might desire to, and that i've got faith will, confirm that the regulation is asserted and that there are no exceptions on religious or the different grounds. in case you have any ethical experience in any respect with regards to the moral scientific care of animals, confirm you do no longer consume at any corporation which serves Halal meat, and make confident they comprehend they have misplaced your custom because of the fact of it. ('Halal' potential the animal's throat is decrease and it bleeds to dying slowly, unsleeping each and every of the time and of course in super soreness, as unfavourable to being taken aback and subsequently subconscious before slaughter, that's the only ethical thank you to do it).

Halal and Kosher meat has been killed by cutting the Jugular vein. EEGs have proven that the loss of consciousness is so quick that the animal feels very little if any pain.
Halal meat has not been "sacrificed" as sacrified animals are often burnt to conders after death.

Well if you are cooking for 30 people everyone is going to have a different taste for food. I know it is not easy keeping everyone happy but I don't think you should force her if she doesn't want it. As one of the answers before said you can keep you happy with burger and chips. If everyone else agrees on the same type of food you are lucky and it doesn't happen too often. If you were cooking for my family you would have a bigger problem. My sister is on a very strict gluten free diet cos she has coeliac. my mother is diabetic, some of my friends have a diary allergy, some have a nut allergy the list goes on and on...... :-) Good luck with the cooking and I hope all goes well for you. Cheers.

Hmm.. i've had Halal chinese food - was pretty good. Your friend is missing out.
But, in truth, i've also heard about those who abstain from Halal meat on the grounds of Humaneness toward animals.
Best thing you could do is try and convince your friend that it wasn't "sacrificed" but prepared according to a dietary custom your religion observes.
If not - go with the Crackers and Cheese/Alternative Food idea. Its what many of my friends do when they have say Vegetarians over.

"Halal" does not mean it has been sacrificed! It just means it's okay for Muslims to eat. I know Muslims can't eat pork or drink alcohol. As for meats other than pork, I think they have to be blessed. I don't know all the rules.
I think your friend needs to be educated a bit... maybe you should show her a website that talks about Muslim customs. That way she'll actually find out what "halal" means, rather than assuming.

How will she know ? In a lot of meat factories , a halal butcher will bless the animal before slaughter but after that when its boned and packed nobody could tell the difference.I do not think with up to a 1000 animals been killed they bother to divide them into halal and non halal. its all blessed regardless.

Your Christian friend is merely showing off her ignorance. Meat that has been killed in the Halal fashion has simply been bled to death instead of shot through the head with a compressed-air driven bullet. However, there are narrow-minded, loony Christian groups out there that claim that the Halal slaughter is a sacrifice to some "Arab moon god".

Christians are taught that all meats can be eaten when they are received and eaten with an attitude of love and thanksgiving.
The teachings she is adhering to are from 1 Corinthians 8.
Early Christians in Corinth often made discounted meat purchases, to be better stewards with the money that the Lord blessed them with.
But many, refused to eat that meat because it had been sacrificed to idols. 1 Corinthians 10 finishes the controversy.
If the idol is nothing, then meat sacrificed to the idol is of no offense either.

Hmmm don't know..
If it somehow is connected with the practice of your religion then it is a sacrifice and she wouldn't eat it.
If you just get it at the butcher shop "give me a half pound of ground halal" then she would probably eat it...
Need a good definition of halal
