We all know that Halloween has pagan roots. Some Christians I know will not do anything to celebrate the holiday because it is "of the Devil". Others see no harm in it Halloween is about what you make it about, kids getting candy and playing lets-pretend. Meanwhile, the Christians that shun Halloween put up Christmas trees, (pagan) and go to church on Sunday, which came from pagan roots because the original sabbath was Saturday but Constantine the Great changed it when he mixed the two religions into one, to the day the pagans worshipped the SUN god (sun-day). I could go on and on about all the "Christian" practices that are rooted in paganism. The point being do we have the spirit or not. And I personally do not see anything wrong with Halloween provided you're not using it to worship the Devil. What are your thoughts?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep rude and pointless answers to yourself.
Thanks

Just curious - wouldn't this mean that an atheist could sue a religious group that spreads lies about atheists for slandering them?

Do you believe the movie "Passion of the Christ" is just a summary of the Catholic faith? I mean think about it, 3 hours all about Jesus death, and almost nothing about His resurection....

I don't think a true Christian would see this movie, and I did not go see it. The reason, it breaks a few commandments. The first, do not make idols. Second, it makes a false witness about Jesus, because no one really knows what he looked like.

Mel Gibson also let us know his mind, when he ranted about Jewish people. I know many think that Only the Jews killed Jesus, but the real truth is Jesus died for all of us, willingly.

Do you find it Ironic, that this movie is just like the Catholic Church? Only Focusing on His death and maybe even His Physical Birth (Christmas). In fact we are NEVER told to celebrate Jesus Birthday anywhere in the Bible.

Why doesn't the Catholic Church ever talk about Paul's epistles? Why do they thing the Catholic Church is the author of Grace, and not God?

In what ways are we "not showing love".
Is telling you that 'sin is sin' a lack of love?
Is not acting like you a lack of love?
Or do you see something about us that we don't notice? Please let us know.
As Christians we should be people magnets. Jesus was. If we are not attracting others something is wrong.
What do you non Christians think it is?
Yes, this a stolen question. Saw one like it last week.

Evolution creationism darwinism?
Take Your First Step Toward True Evolution

Ever wonder why you repeat the same negative thoughts in your head? Why you keep coming back for more from hurtful family members, friends, or significant others? Why you keep falling into the same detrimental habits or limiting attitudes—even when you know that they are going to make you feel bad?

Dr. Joe Dispenza has spent decades studying the human mind—how it works, how it stores information, and why it perpetuates the same behavioral patterns over and over. In the acclaimed film What the Bleep Do We Know!? he began to explain how the brain evolves—by learning new skills, developing the ability to concentrate in the midst of chaos, and even healing the body and the psyche.

Evolve Your Brain presents this information in depth, while helping you take control of your mind, explaining how thoughts can create chemical reactions that keep you addicted to patterns and feelings—including ones that make you unhappy. And when you know how these bad habits are created, it's possible to not only break these patterns, but also reprogram and evolve your brain, so that new, positive, and beneficial habits can take over.

This is something you can start to do right now. You and only you have the power to change your mind and evolve your brain for a better life—for good.

I understand that Jesus was local, in the flesh, so to speak. And I believe God is in heaven. The Holy Spirit can move around, so the question is really; Can God remove himself from a place completely, and leave no aspect of himself whatsoever?

I notice most translations of Ps 37:9,11,27 & 29 say the meek will possess/inherit the land, not the earth. This is because the Hebrew word can mean either land OR earth and context determines which it should be. Ps 37 says wicked people will not triumph over godly people, who will stay on the land - the Promised Land sworn to Abraham's descendants, their rightful inheritance with its boundaries as stated by God to Moses. In contrast, Ps 47:7 & 9 correctly means 'earth' in the sense of the whole world for it speaks of God's rule over all nations.

Now, I know other verses in the Bible speak of God's plans for the whole earth (Isa 45:18 Rev 21:3 etc) but I just want to check if the New World Translation is placing a wrong emphasis on Ps 37 which speaks of a Jewish inheritance, as does Isa 57:13 & 58:14. If that's also prophetic it must surely mean literal Jews who believe in Christ, NOT a future global paradise after Armageddon for JWs and the resurrected?

The old testament says that Yahweh is one. That you should have no other Gods before you.

Jesus called the father his God.

Satan would be wasting his time trying to tempt God right?

Jesus said to not call him good, but only call God good.

Jesus said to pray to the father, not himself.

Jesus prayed to the father and not himself.

On the cross Jesus did not forsake himself, he cried out why did the father forsake him.

Jesus never said he was Yahweh.

The trinity doctrine (father, son, holy ghost - and even father, son, and mother mary) has blurred the lines.

So, when you equate Jesus with Yahweh, aren't you worshipping a different God breaking the old testament commandment not to do that?

Keep in mind I'm asking not to incite a fight but honest inquiry. Study your bibles (kjv is a trinitarian bible with added verses so...), pray, and give an honest answer and not some canned answer you learned in Sunday school.
