Australia is ahead of the US in terms of becoming a post-religious country (yes I know of Hill$ong but they're nothing compared to what the US has and the only way for a Christian party to get elected in Australia has been to claim not to be one) and also has better units of measure. The right wing in Australia by US standards may as well be commie pinkos (well the right wing in pretty much every non-US western country is way too the left of the US right wing with global warming denialism pretty much confined to the US).
Rather amusingly while Australians have a reputation for liking sport far too much (and it is very true) Americans actually seem to be the ones that show it (inter-school sports in Australia just aren't as big a deal).
Oh and there's a higher crime rate in the US.
I'd rather stay right here rather than go to a place where atheists are discriminated against.

They're both a mess, us with Dim George Bush and Australia with Wee Johnny Howard.
Hillsong Church in Australia is as embarrassing as any mega church in the U.S.
We have the reknowned skeptic Michael Shermer, Australia has the reknowned and very witty skeptic Peter Bowditch.
Tough call. Which ever is more ungodly and trending to more ungodliness is more appealing.

"ungodly?" Since Christians tend to use that term exclusively to their god, I would equate "ungodliness" as a good thing. Us "ungodlies" tend to be more polite, tolerant, accepting, respectful... and some of us favor spirituality over dogma.
almost all Aussies I've met are jovial, friendly people.
most Americans (even bible-thumpers) tend to be well-meaning and polite. I couldn't call either of the 'rude' per se.
I'd choose to live in Australia because I've never been there and I'd love to try it.

Definitely Australia. Some parts of America do seem charming but I don't think I'd want to live there. They have guns! And a crazy president! They still circumcise! And have creationist museums! No free medical! They use the wrong measurements! More crime! Crazy high school/college competitive thing!

I've never been to Australia, but I've heard many good things about it. I think I'd at least like to give it a try, because I've had it up to here with stupid Americans! Australians deserve the chance to earn my detestation also.

i live in australia and would not live anywhere else, i would love to travel(havn't yet) but the one place i will not visit is america. from what i see on tv and such ( i know not a very reliable source, but hey) Americans can be very ignorant, george bush is insane and they (gennerally) think that there is no one else outside thier own country.

I have nothing but respect for Australians. However, I was born American, raised American, and I will die an American, on the soil which I call home.
