“My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source.”

We tend to take Jesus death for granted, we need to be reminded of the price that Jesus paid for each of our sins.
No man would sacrifice himself in that way, especially knowing the outcome, the size of them large nails, like-spikes being pounded through hands and feet into the cross, being crucified. The gift of salvation was not cheap.

God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. Ephesians 2:4-5

Think about Jesus every time you speak an unkind word, behave selfishly, or lie. You have the peace of knowing that your sins are forgiving through Jesus' death. That goes for me too. We all tend to take it for granted...... can you do what Jesus done, can you pay for others sins, especially being crucified.....no I don't think we can, especially knowing before hand the pain and suffering.

Is it now against policy to put up prayer requests as part of a question?

Would you pray if I told you I just received a call from my brother that his wife, who just had heart bypass surgery a couple of months ago, had a hear attack this morning?

Her recovery has been going perfectly so this is quite a surprise.

Do you think that asking for prayer for a need is a violation of policy?

Is this question a request for prayer and not a question?

I asked this before but I thought it was worth repeating.

Just a thought, please hear me out before you answer.

okay say men did make God Jesus etc. up, why not make up something more desirable to the flesh?
Why make up some supreme being that requires you to do opposite of your fleshly desires?
like: forgive those who hurt you, etc.
wouldn't man have made up a "god" who would allow them to indulge in all their fleshly desires, promote self , and the most amazing one ....why would they create hell?

why not everyone lives forever in "happyland" because everything is okay and no sin etc.?

and please don't use the "old" fear tactic or control, it's much easier to get people to follow "feel good" religion.
and remember they "made it up" to follow for there selfs and died for it. who would die for a lie?
just athought.

what happens to the people who are baptized and believe in jesus and repented but they atritbute the work of God to satan
Jesus does not lie about these sort of things

so it is eother one or the other and Jesus made a promise that whoever believes and is baptized is saved

so what about someone who is baptized and beleives but they attribute the work of God to satan and then go back to beleiving and repnting

jesus is NOT a liar
i just dont get it

so the bible says that the person who is being babtized into christ must declare that they believe he is their savior. So how can babies make that choice...its not up to the parents, but if they do babtize them as babies, then the babie has not "accepted" christ into their life. some churches say that the parents sins are passed down through birth, i will believe you when you find me a bible verse that says that that is OK.

Mark 12:29-31 (King James Version)
29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

-The "road hog" in front of you on Main Street is a farmer's combine.
-The local phone book has only one yellow page.
-Third Street is on the edge of town.
-You leave your jacket on the back of the chair in the cafe, and when you go back the next day, it's still there, on the same chair.
-You don't signal turns because everyone knows where you're going anyway.
-No social events can be scheduled when the school gym floor is being varnished.
-You call a wrong number and are supplied with the correct one.
-Everyone knows all the news before it's published; residents read the hometown paper just to see whether the publisher got it right.

When people claim to be "born again", what precisely do they mean? I have always believed that when we are baptized we are "born" into the Kingdom of God. Does "born again" mean you've fallen away from the church and have come to renew your commitment or.....what? Thanks very much for helping me with this. May the Lord + bless you and keep you always!

Everyone that talks about Islam says that it is a religion of peace. However, everywhere you look you see evidence to the contrary. From the outside in, Islam looks like a religion that represses it's subjects, is horribly sexist and abusive toward women, and endorses the action that it is ok to kill some one who does not share your faith simply because they do not share your faith. There seems to be a major difference between what is preached and what is done. I can not help but draw a correlation to where Islam is now and where Christianity was back during the Crusades, when christians had that naughty little tendency to burn heretics at the stake. For Christianity it took internal (not external) revolts and reformation in order to come out of this period. Within the Muslim community, what is it going to take to make blowing oneself up in the middle of the town square, an option that is just no long accepted and even seen as immoral? Do Muslims need an Islamic Reformation?

Why are churches named after saints?
How do you pray with saints, and do Catholics have a certain saint they pray to? How do they choose their devoted saint?
What items do Catholics pray/worship with? I know they have a rosary, and Bible, but is there other things they use?
What is the Eucharist and Mysteries?
Why do Catholics put a lot of emphasis on Mary? why not most emphasis on God?
Why do people make the sign of the cross on their forehead and across their chest, what does this mean/stand for?

I have learned the basic things from research on the Internet, but I'm having trouble finding or understanding some of the other things about Catholicism.

These questions are for Catholics or others who have a knowledge of Catholicism, I am in search for answers, not opinions.

God Bless.

'I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.' (John 15:5 NIV)

That must be the key to our boredom with Christianity: we have not been keeping in very close touch with our Man in glory. We have been doing in our churches all those churchly things that we do. We have done them with our own understanding and in our own energy. But without a bright and conscious confirmation of God's presence, a church service can be very deadly and dull.

Is there ONE honest Muslim here today who can admit that the Quran has changed many times? Come now. Surely you know the history of your own religion. First you have the "Satanic" verses that Muhammad's followers pressured him to discard, which he did. Then you have an entire "revelation" that was eaten by a goat before it could even be included in the final collection. Apparently the Quran wasn't enough so you guys wrote a bunch of other books to go along with it, which you also consider to be infallible scripture. If you ask me you should really consider correcting the scientific mistakes in your books, like where it says the sun sets in a pool of murky water every night or where it says that sperm comes from a man's chest. (Or did the word "chest" really mean "crotch" back then?) You sure like to lie about the Bible changing even though all the evidence points to its complete preservation. So what do you say when someone calls you on your lies? More lies?
