The first thing that happens before you are actually born again is TRUE REPENTANCE. That is when you are truly, truly sorry for all your sins, and you just cry and cry because you are so sorry. I cried for a week straight. Then, you accept Jesus into your heart, (because after you repent, your heart gets softened). And the joy you feel is "unspeakable!" It is like I opened my eyes for the first time. I saw everything so clearly. when you hear someone say "I saw the light." They're not kidding. You really do see things in a different LIGHT. It's the Light of God, and there's nothing like it. From then on, you see God in everything. You want to live your life for Him, and you are happy to do it. Serving Him is all you care about. You are renewed, and refreshed, and a NEW CREATURE! You have this love inside you that you can't explain. But, you know it's there. You just want to tell everyone you see, and you probably will. I know I did. Anyway, that's how it happened with me. I pray that it happens to you soon! God Bless!

Different people have different experiences. It occurs when God decides to impart his Spirit to an individual whom He has chosen to save for all eternity.
John 3:3 Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"
5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.
The evidence of being born again is a changed life over time as a person becomes more like Jesus and less like a slave to sinful passions.

We are born again when we believe enough to determine to change their lives, We confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, We repent of our past sins and restore the right as much as we can and we are baptized to wash away these sins and to become a new creation in Him or we are born again if you wish to use that vernacular.

when you are born again , its just like being a baby and suddenly becoming aware of the truth and growing little by little spiritually as God trains you up in his word and shows you how to live for him. God does give you a peace that passes all understanding.

Being born again is an inward experience. It usually starts by believing what Christ has done for you, accepting it, and being regenerated in the spirit because of it. Publicly, it is manifested by baptism (not the kind that they do to babies), and living a life patterned after the life of Christ while He was here on earth.

Jesus explained this very well, do you understand what He said.
Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Joh 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Joh 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

If you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord. And Confess Him with your mouth. That He raised from the dead you shall be born again.
Believe and Confess. Easy yet people try to make it hard like it's a soap on the TV.

Upon receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior, you receive the Holy Spirit, the old sin nature dies, (the old you), and you are born of spirit, ( the new you). You are then born into the family of God. What is flesh is flesh, what is spirit is spirit. You then call God your Father, and He calls you His son/daughter.

There's Two types of "born again" in the NT of the Bible...
1. Law --> Law: John 3:3-7; Romans 8:2... they(1Cor9:25)
2. Law --> Grace: 1Cor 15:53; 1Peter 1:23... we(1Cor9:25)
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
- notice it's both "answered" and "said" to Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, who came to Jesus "by night(darkness, law)"
- notice it's in the "verily, verily" gospel according to John
- notice it's to see (not enter) the kingdom of God (not the kingdom of heaven, which is like unto leaven); Whereas entering the kingdom of God is being born of water and [of] the Spirit: John 3:5.
- notice in John 3:7 it's "ye" who "must" be born again; Ye who do err, greatly and alway; And "must" is a law word, whereas "let" is a grace word.
1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
- notice here it's born of "incorruptible" seed: grace, which notably arrives undefiled: 1Peter 1:4 and also remains unspotted, as also noted in James 1:27's pure religion
So two sorts of religion see born again differently:
- impure religions: law --> law(2nd: Mt 22:36-40; Rom 8:2)
- pure religion: law(corruptible) --> grace(incorruptible)
It's kinda like CJ is mirrorly the reverse of JC,
or as in our image is mirrorly reverse of after our likeness.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

You start looking at the world through entirely different eyes:
2Cr 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
