When people claim to be "born again", what precisely do they mean? I have always believed that when we are baptized we are "born" into the Kingdom of God. Does "born again" mean you've fallen away from the church and have come to renew your commitment or.....what? Thanks very much for helping me with this. May the Lord + bless you and keep you always!

Born in the Spirit, from above. When you accept Christ Jesus and he send the Holy Spirit to dwell within you, you are Born of the Spirit, "Born Again", it differs from water baptism, which is a proclamation "Confess with your Mouth" that you are a follower of Christ and have asked for forgiveness and for Christ to lead your life.

Born again means to be born of the Spirit of God...until we accept Jesus we are just flesh , born of flesh...when we accept Jesus we take on the nature of the Spirit. Just like God promised us in Ezekiel 36:26..it says he will give us a new heart and put in us a new Spirit...the new heart is the heart of Christ and the new Spirit is the Holy Spirit. It is not a point in which you return but rather COME to when he calls you. Hope that helps Peace.

As far as I understand it, when a person is born again, they are born into the Kingdom of God and you get a fresh start. The old you passes away and you become new, a child of God, belonging to Him. You only need to be water baptized once. Once you are saved, you are saved. You need to obey God's instruction, cling close to Him and He will guide you through the lifelong process.

John 3:1-21
Being born again means a second birth(spiritual) in Christ. Having a spiritual birth(being born of God) is " as Jesus says" a complete new person. Dying of the old flesh, repenting of your ways and giving all that you love and cherish here on earth to the all mighty GOD. It takes "a want to" of sacrifice of the flesh.

Baptism is a SYMBOL of being born again. TO SHOW you are saved(born again). The reason you show you are saved, is to witness(Which is are job as christians). Jesus says if you deny me before men, then I will deny you before the Father in Heaven.

A building of any type can be a church. What a church means is a place where people go to worship the Lord. When you say ,fallen away from the church, and have come to renew your commitment, this is a faulty saying.

(1) I think what you are really asking, is do you loose salvation and try to regain it? NO!!! If you are born into the spirit, then forever, you will have Christ. People who say they have lost salvation never really was born again. One birth of the flesh and One birth of the spirit. Jesus says nothing can pluck you out of his hand. Like i told you before in order to be saved you have to give up 100% of every aspect of your earthly existance and humble your !heart!.

(2)Now, because we are not all perfect(only Jesus); we sin. How is it we become perfect in Christ?? He died for are sins and rose from the dead. CHRIST IS WHAT MAKES US PERFECT.
Alot of people don't read there bible, don't prey, don't witness, and there fruits-(there ways) "as Jesus says" are as wicked as satan.
Of course we sin, It is when you willfully go in to sin(pleasures of the flesh) where the test of "born again" applys, but we repent from those sins "every second of the day" asking Gods forgiveness, and he does forgive, but it takes a contride heart. Not once justifying.

THIS IS TRUE DOCTRINE FROM THE SOURCE OF THE HOLY BIBLE
and billions of people reject this doctrine

We are born as human.

We believe, repent and accept Christ

We are Baptized into the new life.

In order to be "re-born" (become a new creature) we must first DIE.

We join in the death of Jesus when we are laid in the grave of baptism (go under the water).

We are born into the new life and join in the ressurection of Jesus when we rise from our watery grave.

BAPTISM HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH BEING "BORN AGAIN"

It really means that they get a "do over." So if they sinned a whole bunch before the "born again" business, they now think that they have a new lease on life because before they had loads and loads of guilt weighing them down.

For example, maybe someone was a pedophile - kind of like the biological parent of a kid that lived in my parents' foster home - and now he has declared himself Christian. He is absolved of all the times he molested his child and feels great because he doesn't have to feel like a real piece of **** for what he did because now Jesus is taking all that sin away... At least until he reoffends. But in the meantime he feels great because there's no more guilt.

Unfortunately for jerks like that there are people like me that don't forget, forgive, or plan to be merciful if we see them in a dark alley at night. But while that ******* is with his Christian pals he knows he is safe from the sound beating he so richly deserves... at least until he reoffends and people question themselves on just how forgiving a Christian ought to be.

Some people don't believe that baptism is the rebirth. They feel you must have a personal, emotional experience during which you come to the realization that you are a sinner and god wants to save you. They believe that people like you are going to hell, because you've never personally experienced god--you are trusting in your parents upbringing and your church to get you to heaven.

bible says " behold "old" things pass away and "all" things become "new"
when you receive Christ as savior he changes the old man into a new on....born again
church's and rituals and tradition have nothing to do with it it is a personal commitment to Jesus.and renewing of the mind.
also:
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God

Its something that has to happen thru the spirit

a man in the Bible asked Jesus this very question.
to be Born Agian means to be saved by Jesus..
you have to pray the sinners prayer and completely comit your life to serving the Lord! :) and trust me, it is completely worth it!
Being baptized had absolutely nothing to do with actually getting saved.
It is just a public proffession of your faith and love for God..!
Talk to your pastor, he can explain things more thoroughly if i didn't help, and can give you Scripture references!
God luck, i hope The Lord speaks to your heart and convicts you to be saved! :)
I'll pray for you..!
God bless!
