We tend to take Jesus death for granted, we need to be reminded of the price that Jesus paid for each of our sins.
No man would sacrifice himself in that way, especially knowing the outcome, the size of them large nails, like-spikes being pounded through hands and feet into the cross, being crucified. The gift of salvation was not cheap.

God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. Ephesians 2:4-5

Think about Jesus every time you speak an unkind word, behave selfishly, or lie. You have the peace of knowing that your sins are forgiving through Jesus' death. That goes for me too. We all tend to take it for granted...... can you do what Jesus done, can you pay for others sins, especially being crucified.....no I don't think we can, especially knowing before hand the pain and suffering.

...this was written after a believer's actual dream:

Last night, I touched Jesus
As He came to forgive my sins.
I felt the holes in His hands
And His side where the spear went in.
I felt the pain of His carrying
His cross up Calvary's hill.
Adorned in a crown of thorns,
I felt His Love for His tormentors, still.
I saw Him die,
And began to cry,
For the pain He had to take
To free an undeserving people,
In their eternities to make.
It is His Love,
This Love for us,
That circled all around me.
And as I woke from my slumber,
I felt His Love,
His Glorious Love,
As part of......
Part of me

...yes, Jesus "is" much more than a man...much more

"God, forgive them, because they don't know what they are doing." Those last words are the main lesson to learn from Jesus' sacrifice. If He forgave, we can forgive!

Think about it "they don't know what they are doing". He implied we are innocent. It is like a child that breaks something very expensive and we consider 'that's OK, he is a child and he didn't know what the was doing". We are children. However, children learn, absorb, develop. We also do. We have learned a lot since Jesus' days. We have developed a lot and there is still a long way ahead of us.

Peace!

We tend to take the idea that anyone following the description of Jesus in Bible ever lived for granted. The evidence suggests this is simply no the case.

There was no sacrifice because there was no Jesus. It's a fictional character. The story of a resurrected "savior" is neither unique nor original to christianity.

Did a historical Jesus exist?
http://www.nobeliefs.com/exist.htm
[Excerpt]

ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS

No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.

Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.

Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

i think of it grew to become into that Jesus grew to become into the exception (no unique sin, with a virgin mom and all), and God in basic terms screwed him over even whilst he had no sins. demanding life being son of God and all. the belief of Jesus nevertheless is rather like ManBearPig, he's the son of God and the son of guy- so is he like 0.5 guy, 0.5 God? No, they say, he must be all guy and all God. do no longer hardship nevertheless- Al Gore will locate the answer! until eventually ultimately such time, it style of feels to me that the unquestionably historic parent Jesus of Nazarath grew to become into a hundred% guy (possibly a wronged, reliable guy), who grew to become into condemned as a heretic and crucified. Thereupon a fictitious account grew to become into equipped up in accordance with this parent claiming he grew to become into a hundred% God (the son of God no much less!), this view holds to on the instant and thanks to its historic foundation keeps the contradiction of comprehensive guy comprehensive God.
