Susan,
All Christians go thru periods of time where we feel our faith is weak (or gone) or is being tested. No amount of church attendance or church activities in itself will help to "get your faith back". I think you should try to determine 1) when you lost it, and 2) what made you believe that you had lost it. God is as close to us as we will allow him to be. All we have to do is call on the name of Jesus and he is immediately with us. We have all power through our belief in Christ, although sometimes we have to remind ourselves of that.
Do you know the story of Peter in the boat? When he saw Jesus walking on water, he was able to step out of the boat and walk on water also! All it took was for him to believe that he could, and as long as he kept his focus on Jesus, he was able to do what he believed. But when he took his focus off Jesus and looked at the storm around him, he became afraid and began to sink. (Matthew 14:22-33)
The best thing about your question is that you seem to have a desire to get your faith back. The best part of the story is that Jesus would not let Peter drown! When Peter cried out to him, he saved him. He is never far away from us. We just have to seek him out.
God bless you.

I can see why you're questioning things. But killing yourself? How selfish can you be? You really want to leave your kids behind being taunted as the crazy womans kids?
No, you got more to live for.
Fact of the matter is, if you feel this unhappy, god is not going to come down with a big basket of flowers and cheer you up. You can pray till the sacred cows come home, but ultimately, your are the creator of your destiny.
I suspect you're feeling a little cheated. I would too, decades of devotion to a god that gives nothing back?
I don't want to force you in or out of religion, that is your choice, but have you sat back and thought about why you do it? you've got 2 kids who love you, and no doubt lots of family. Rather than giving love to god, have you thought about giving love to them?
I'm an agnost, so I can't pretend to know exactly what the pull of religion is, but what I can say, is that I simply do not believe that a fair and just god would want you live such an unhappy life.
Why not take time out? Being a good catholic to me, does not mean attending church, praying constantly and all that. Being a good catholic is essentially, being a good person and following a set of guidelines. Rather than going to church this sunday, why not take your kids somewhere different. If god made such a beautiful world, why not go and see it?
I don't for a second believe that if someone has led a good and just life, they have been kind and done their best not to hurt others, then when they get to the pearly gates, they'll be let in.
For me, I think the one thing that smacks throughout religion is that never forget, you are a mother first, follower second. Nothing, however omnipotent, should come before your family.
Now, on a more practical note, get yourself to the doctors, if you're trying to kill yourself then your extremely depressed, you need some help. I hope you can find it.

Realise that faith is built when you trust in God's strength, and not your own.
Listing the things that you DO (or DID) as evidence of your former faith tells me that you haven't yet transferred your faith from what you do (ie your works) over to what God does (ie miracles).
Prayer, thoughtful questioning and peaceful meditation to hear God speaking back to you... (ie taking note of how different thoughts and conclusions feel in your heart) will help you to develop your faith into something strong and steadfast.
Your "heart" and mind is how the Holy Spirit can talk to you... and those peaceful, expansive feelings give a person true faith and conviction.
Faith is a gift from God. Remember, is you ask Him, he will give it to you. Praying daily for an increase in faith is something that will slowly but surely bring lasting results.
Love and Peace. xo

Razzle has a very good point. No one can really help you get your faith back. You have to find it: in the love of your children, in a warm sunny day, in a memory that brings you close enough to God for you to ask Him back into your life.
I will pray to God that this happens for you and I'd ask all those who answer to do the same. The power of prayer is beyond comprehension.
May God give you peace and the strength to believe.

Geez Suebabe, you have too much of a good sense of humour to let things get you down that much. I'd have to advise you to go see your doctor. Sounds as if you just need someone to have a rant to from time to time. Many people find peace of mind in religion, many people don't. You have to find what is best for you. Try having some faith in yourself.

Reread what Gay4God has written -- he seems to be a man of great compassion and understanding. Also read his other answers to other questions.
Have you been spiritually abused by church leaders? if so, you are not alone and some of the forums for this would give you support, but CJ's advice is probably the best.

First of all, pick a church you feel comfortable in AND the church must preach Christ as Lord and that salvation is only through faith.
Second of all, don't force your kids to go to church. That will only alienate them from the faith. Raise your children in a Godly home.

If it is that you have lost your faith, spend some time alone in a church when it is empty. I it is where His spirit dwells and you can sense it their. While you're there, look in side yourself and reflect. It can take time maybe even a few visits, but He will show Himself to you from the inside and out.

I would get a good King James Bible and read the book of John and the Psalms. Ask Jesus to come into your life and find a good church that teaches the Bible and the people believe the Bible and live out the Bible.

What is it you need help with?
Getting your faith back is a broad term.
What exactly did you lose your faith about?
In God, in general?
...if it is God's will that people should come to an accurate knowledge of truth, would he unfairly conceal it from them? Not according to the Bible, which says: "If you search for [God], he will let himself be found by you."—1 Chronicles 28:9.
