I've been talking to this atheist, about God, and it's really frustrating because every time I try to reason with him about God, ie. "watch on the beach" and other examples, he claims he has faith that he's right. I don't really know how I can make any progress with him.

in my country (UAE) all the shops close from suhur to iftar. all of the restaurants i mean. why is that?

isnt the point of fasting lost when there is no temptation to resist?

and the population is 70%+ expat non-muslims. is this fair to them?

All disparaging remarks are offensive...

But what tugs at your purse strings the most?

When someone insults:
1. You
2. A person's race?
3. A person's culture
4. A person's sexual preference
5. A person's religion?
6. A person's physical appearance
7. The Lord GOD and Jesus Christ?

I am totally offended by the offense so many direct to our Lord. If people gave utimate respect to our Lord, in my opinion they would never insult any of the other 6 listed?

The 1st commandment says we can't have any other "gods" before God...

Does someone know the translation of "gods"? In church they always say it means things like "money" or other earthly desires. If thats what they meant, they would have written "desires"...

Does someone know the translation? Are there other gods besides THE God?

Years ago, one of my spiritual mentors told me this. At the time I thought it was pretty lame. But with time, I see it as more and more true.

She said that here on earth, there are lots of "good-bye" moments. We are always having to leave people or get left by people.

But if the theologians are right, and heaven/paradise/God's grace is union with God and others, then heaven would be full of "hello"s and devoid of "good-byes."

The word "hello" invites communication and communion: connection.

Heaven is greater and greater union, deeper and deeper connection with God, our source and foundation. The same with love. So do you think one way of thinking about God's Kingdom is an eternal "Hello"?

It was only like a year ago I was pretty positive, upbeat kind of guy. I was a good christian, but I was never one to tell people how to live their lives.

Now, though, I'm a totally different person. I mean, I *act* the same, when I'm around friends and family, but I feel so worthless anymore. Thanks to some really shitty friends, and the people I once loved treating me like I'm totally useless, I've lost all faith in God. It's not that I'm "angry" with him (I was at one point, though), but I have lost the belief of his existance.

The thing is, I feel like my life has no meaning anymore. I question why I still go on, when my life shows no hope of improving. I think the worst thing, is I feel *I'm* the one to blame, and that makes me dislike myself anymore. I'm really self-conscious, plus overweight, so I really just feel more and more like a total failure.

What's happened to me? And what can I possibly do to add meaning to my life? Is there a way to become religious again?

First, knowing you're putting the lives of those around you at risk, is it very Christian to be driving in the first place? Should there be a "Christian Speed Limit" to ensure the safety of those around them? Like, it's ok to drive 25 MPH, but 70 MPH is just un-Christian.

Second, if someone *is* driving (let's say they're sitting at a stop light), and they disappear, is it stealing if I take their car?

well sometimes it depends on the environment also, for people from the north pole cannot be vegetarian, same for the people living in deserts region. but where there is plenty of fruits, vegetables and trees like the fertile regions in most countries, people should be more towards veg than non- veg.

Parents take him to the feast, parents already know HE's the son of a GOD, the streets and town aren't that safe, (yesss even in those times) then they leave town WITHOUT him, from any angle there is so much wrong with this story, where do you start? And please don't tell me they thought HE was riding with other people in the caravan. Which mini-van? Which donkey or camel? Which aunt or uncle? They find him three days later in the house of his father. Now wasn't there a problem with the way this house operated? I can remember a little fit He through at this house later.
