Delylah: Right, and what causes those impulses?

ddking: Right, so it's performing it's functions based on a set of rules (laws of physics) along with input and stored information, aned they act on a previous brain state. Doesn't this process follow the laws of physics? Where is the free will in this process? It ain't there.

The point is that you don't really have free will.

it's firing off, using info stored in my memory of experiences, etc., to help me decide "is this REALLY what i want to do?", running the possible scenarios of the consequences of an action, BASED ON said past experiences.

add: i can DECIDE if i want to drink and drive again, and possibly have a broken and dislocated hip with a 4 inch plate again, but it ain't likely...i can DECIDE to go on and on with you about this like i usually do when you ask this once a week, but that ain't likely either, but knowing your position on this, from your previous Q's, i DECIDED to answer it again anyway. and believe me, it was a CHOICE.
now, i can't DECIDE if i am going to go to the bathroom or not, if i will blink or not, or if my heart will beat or not...but i can hold it, close my eyes completely or CAUSE my heart to stop beating...this is where i agree with you, another CHOICE. i can either agree or disagree with you, regardless of laws of physics, stored memory or whatever.

Electrical impulses are firing across the synapses from neuron to neuron ...

(hoping I remember my anatomy correctly)

Okay, Meat Bot! I don't know! You're making my synapses freeze up! *grabs head and runs away*
