Parents take him to the feast, parents already know HE's the son of a GOD, the streets and town aren't that safe, (yesss even in those times) then they leave town WITHOUT him, from any angle there is so much wrong with this story, where do you start? And please don't tell me they thought HE was riding with other people in the caravan. Which mini-van? Which donkey or camel? Which aunt or uncle? They find him three days later in the house of his father. Now wasn't there a problem with the way this house operated? I can remember a little fit He through at this house later. Is there a problem with the parenting skills of a son of a GOD?

Not only that, but no one even has a clue what he was up to before the age of 12. Very bad parenting, I'd say.

Here's the Bible passage in Luke 2:42-52 "And when he became twelve years old, they went up according to the custom of the festival and completed the days. But when they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and his parents did not notice it.  Assuming that he was in the company traveling together, they covered a day’s distance and then began to hunt him up among the relatives and acquaintances. But, not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem, making a diligent search for him.  Well, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers and listening to them and questioning them.  ....amazement  Now when they saw him they were astounded, and his mother said to him: “Child, why did you treat us this way? Here your father and I in mental distress have been looking for you.” But he said to them: “Why did you have to go looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in the [house] of my Father?"
He was part of a large family, I'm sure he wasn't the only one that any parent ever lost track of then. Apparently God thought Mary and Joseph were worthy parents and who are we to question that?
The Bible doesn't focus much on it because it's of very little importance - what we should focus on is the man reason why he was here ; Jesus was a model for us in humility, love and kindness. The other reason was his preaching work and the sancitification of God which culminated in him dying as a wrongly accused of being a convicted criminal for our sins.

you forgot to mention that you are an atheist, and accordingly your opinions regarding Jesus should be disregarded.
