First, knowing you're putting the lives of those around you at risk, is it very Christian to be driving in the first place? Should there be a "Christian Speed Limit" to ensure the safety of those around them? Like, it's ok to drive 25 MPH, but 70 MPH is just un-Christian.

Second, if someone *is* driving (let's say they're sitting at a stop light), and they disappear, is it stealing if I take their car?

Thanks in advance for your thought out and informed opinions.

Excellent point ginger!

Maybe a special lane for Christians, like the HOV lane? That'd make more sense. Wall both sides of it, then they could drive 70 anyway. All those cars would be emptied at the same time.

Good question.

I have always hated these types of bumper stickers. Its not that I am against Christianity or Religion in general, its just my thoughts on sin.

If you believe that you are one of the chosen few that will be taken during rapture, thats all well and good, but to think of yourself as being "So" chosen that you proclaim it on your mortal possessions (ie the bumper sticker), isn't that a form of pride? Isnt that kind of pride a sin? So by proclaming this to all who will ever drive behind you (which could be thousands), isn't this in fact a huge amount of pride, therefore a huge amount of sin? And in this act of sin, will you indeed be sent to hell?

Okay, I just answered your question with a question.....and thats just not right.

So, if in fact this display is not qualifications enough to go to hell, then when they leave the mortal coil, the car will indeed NOT be there property anymore, and it will not be considered cheating. You may therfore call "dibs".

As far as safetly goes, I would indeed make a new "Rapture Lane". And the speed limit should be 55 miles per hour, but this lane(s) should have heavy duty bumper rails. That way if they do indeed dissapear the cars that get crashed into on that lane would be empty and would not matter. And for the ones that didnt get taken that were on the lane.....shame on you, you deserve the crash for thinking otherwise. Tsk tsk.

First one , there won't be any Christians around to worry about it. So if an unbeliever gets hit , well it is Trials and Tribulations right.
Second. If they leave an estate and say their children didn't make it. They would own the car. The law is the law. It would be stealing to take it,but not to park it safely.
Thank you for your interesting question.

Well, you probably would hate it if you wanted to go 70 and all the believers were going 25, so I don't think that would work.

And I say take the car, it would HAVE to be considered abandoned property. Kind of like taking stuff people have put out for the garbage!

LOL joe.... Thank you.... always nice to have a laugh in the morning! :)

LOL I prefer to think that God's Holy Spirit will persuade us NOT to be driving, but be a passenger when Rapture is about to commence ...or at least order the driver to pull over to the curb! :)

As for the car that is left abandoned....you may need to check with the remaining (if any) relatives about legal rights to it first! :)

Peace be with you :)

**Alas...Elaine has it correct.... :)

You are taking the risk by not being a Christian.

If the rapture occurs in my lifetime and I am gone as I assume I will be. You can have anything of mine you want. Not like I am going to need my truck in Heaven.

The Reverend Soleil - actually the Bible states that we can know we are saved and thus rapture ready. It is not pride it is a comfort God gives His children. Maybe if you were a true reverend in a Christian church who knew the Word of God you would know this.

1John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God”.

If Christians were not allowed to live their lives like everyone else, the world would be disrupted. I don't care if you take my car, but the man made laws will still be in affect then.

This raises an interesting legal question. Is it a valid defense to carjacking to say that the driver 'looked like he was about to be raptured?'

I think you will have other things to be concerned about, if a mass disappearance of people happen in your life time. If you are one of His, you won't have to worry about it, eh?

If you accept jesus as your saviour you will go with us. IF you dont you have far worse to be worried about than an unmanned car. That will hurt for a bit but hell hurts forever. Think about it.
