Because most polluters know they're putting their rear ends (and other peoples') on the line by doing so. They just shrug it off.

Still, most religious heads use cars and planes. Will they go to hell for murder and suicide?

Most Theists believe that the Earth was created for them by their god to do with as they wish. Since they also believe that it will be destroyed anyway at some undefined future time, they could care less about polluting it and harming it in general.

Does it matter whether some religious superstition considers it a sin or not? Sin is an outdated concept.

Instead of following old lists of rules and trying to apply them to modern situations that don't really apply, we should discuss the trade-offs between progress, quality of life, and impacts on the environment. Such a discussion would be vastly more productive than any appeal to religion.

What do you mean by "deadly sin?" Yes, it is a sin to pollute just like it's a sin to go outside with out a coat when it's freezing. I'm not sure you understand the concept of "deadly sin," though.

Polluting is a sin. Any disrespectful act is a sin. Christians use cars and planes, yes, and those things pollute. Would you prefer we use horses and buggies? Oops, what a mess... the horse poop pollutes and, oh my, we gotta cut down trees to build buggies.....
Get a grip. You're being ridiculous.

Following that logic, doing anything like eatting McDonald's french fries and such would be a deadly SIN...for it is polluting the body and taking time off your life - so I guess that is suicide.

Ridiculous. You need to try another avenue to get your point across.

if you are a Christian you should be upset about pollution. the Christian god commanded that that people should be "good stewards" of the Earth's resources.

yet another example of American Christian's apathy and hypocrisy by caring little and doing less.

Let's take your extreme interpretation even further. If only living things can be murdered, is "living" a deadly sin?

Don't think you are wise, it only makes you look like a fool.

The blindly religious can justify anything.

Murder included.
