I know this question has been answered before, but I feel the answers to be below par, and uninformative.

As an atheist, have you ever experienced the presence of a ghost or spirt?

My best friend that I have known since we were kids has had numerous experiences where she has seen ghosts, and even been in a ghost's "body" as he was murdered. She has seen these types of thigs since she was 5 years of age, (not all so violent).

One specific instance was she was at a sleep over at her friends house. She saw a man cut up and bleeding on her friend's balcony. When she told her friend, her freind had told her that her neighbor had died when he fell into a wood chipper.

My mother has also seen an instance of a ghost at the hospital that she works at. My mom had faited while at work and a nurse, dressed in all white came to her aid. Also in this hospital, numerous patients have seen a nurse of a similar description.

I personally haven't seen a ghost, but I believe in them.

I believe in a motivating principle in the Universe, that some may choose to call 'God'. I just have been wrestling with a question that no one seems to be able to answer for me.
If in the beginning (before the world was created) nothing existed for God to be conscious of, then how could He have counted himself as conscious? If there is nothing to be conscious of, then isn't concisouness rendered unconcious?
Let me explain: If there is nothing to hear, see, smell, taste, or touch, then there is nothing to be conscious of. If there is nothing to be conscious of, then consciousness is impossible. Therefore, God would have been UNCONSCIOUS because of a lack of things to be CONSCIOUS of.
This means that there must have been something that existed BEFORE God, which is GREATER than God, which stimulated Him into the act of creating. If this is so, then what was BEFORE God? And what was before THAT?

Is God proud of the way you act?
Have you judged others?
Have you had the gaul to decide FOR GOD who is or isn't going to hell?
Have you envied the things that others have?
Do you hate rather than love your enemies?
Have you loved your neighbors as yourself?
What have you done for the needy?
How have you loved and helped ALL of God's children?
Have you comitted adultery by divorcing and then getting married AGAIN? How will you walk away from THAT sin?

Do you think that you can simply ask forgiveness for all these things and get to see GOD?

The end is coming and NONE of you are ready. How have you followed the Commandments of Jesus Christ?

The Roman emperors created the myth of Jesus based on the life of Augustus Octavian Caesar. They were tired of creating gods that died. So they created Jesus in "spirit-memory" of Augustus so they would have a perpetual logo to market their power to the world with. Their marketing concepts have been copied by world corportation for generations. That is why the corporations all have their private logo to market.

... that there should be a separation of church and state.

I'm not asking if there *is* one; I'm asking if you believe there should be one.

Feel free to elaborate.

REV 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth,

8:10 The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell on one third of the rivers, and on the springs of the waters.

8:11 The name of the star is called "Wormwood." One third of the waters became wormwood. Many people died from the waters, because they were made bitter.

8:12 The fourth angel sounded, and one third of the sun was struck, and one third of the moon, and one third of the stars; so that one third of them would be darkened, and the day wouldn't shine for one third of it, and the night in the same way.

8:13 I saw, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe! Woe! Woe for those who dwell on the earth, because of the other voices of the trumpets of the three angels, who are yet to sound!"

- that all moral people will have a place in the afterlife, whatever their religion?

I know Judaism teaches this; which other faiths also have this view? I'm aware that Christianity teaches that only those who recognise Jesus will avoid hell. The stance of other religions? Thanks for your help.

...If He came to Earth today, that is. Some say He'd ride in the fanciest limo because He's the Son Of God, and thus, must have the best. Some say He'd drive a modest Geo Metro or take the bus, because He is humble while on Earth. What do you think?

How Many Christians Are Called To Do Something For God and for some Reason Or Another You Are Procrastinating On Getting Started ?

2007-09-17 09:30:11 · 24 answers · asked by Isabella 6

I personally don't think so, but I believe the reason some christians are economically successful and some aren't is because God won't allow someone to accquire a lot of material wealth if He knows it will be a hinderence to his/her faith. If you can manage to have riches and not put them before God, it is okay, but anyone would contend, that's very hard to do.

Do agree with this, or do you have a different stance?

I have a friend that is Atheist but I asked her if she would mind me talking to her about my beliefs [Christianity]. She said that she didn't mind but was still a little hesitant because she thinks that I will stop being her friend if she doesn't accept. I assured her that I was not judging her and that I would not desert her if she didn't accept what I had to say although I really wish she would. I'm not trying to shove my beliefs to her and she knows that but I can tell that she's curious about Christianity and what I have to say. I know of many Bible Scriptures that will help me but I just want to see if you may have any that may also help me. I will be sure to pray for guidence before I get into a conversation with her.
