The Mexican Hat dance over the Book of Enoch. It was found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. Do we have the comeplete book, no there are pieces missing. But the Dead Sea Scrolls are the Sacred Cow to the modern Christians. The Catholics can not accept it because it says there are fallen angels. Jews threw it out because it talks about fallen angels. If there are fallen angels, then it opens the door to Satan being a fallen angel. People can not accept the Word of God for what it says because then they would have to give up so much that they desire in their lives.

Other books are mentioned in the Scriptures, but the only one directly quoted was the Book of Enoch. Now either Jude was acting under the direction of God to write those words meaning that God considered it to be inspired, or else Jude is not inspired. If Jude is not inspired, then both Catholics and Protestants have a non-inspired book in their Bibles meaning that their Bibles are non-Scriptural, and is un-"profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" so that the man of God can not "be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Timothy 3:16-17) You can not have it both ways. It is either on or the other.

Like Adma's Rib said the book of Enoch was written a long time ago and was never seen as part of the Bible. As for the fallen angels, yes this is true, Jesus threw Satan and his Demons out of Heaven on to Earth.

People have been changing the Bible for centuries.

Each denomination, specifically Catholic vs non-Catholic, have very distinct Bibles. Entire Books are there or not there. Entire chapters to books are there or not there.

Its not just Enoch...

There is an entire list of Books that werent ever included in the first place, in any version of the Bible. The Apocrypha.

Then there are the new Dead Sea Scrolls... Id like to read a publication of that.

There are numerous reasons for the book of Enoch not being in the various renditions of the Christian bibles. If you want to read the book for yourself go to http://www.nazarene.net/enoch/enoch.html

The different Religious councils that have in the distant past removed or rejected books of scripture from the current renditions of the text, did so for their own 'Religious political' reasons.
Read all the texts if you want to. Most are available on line.

I have no idea why they didn't include Enoch in the bible since it predates most of the books in the old testament. I'm guessing all that angelic stuff was too much for ancient man, they decided we weren't ready to deal with it. They didn't "change" the bible, they simply decided not to include certain books when they put it together.

The book of Enoch was never part of the canon, nor part of the Bible.
It is a Pseudepigraphal book, these books are "false writings." They are a collection of early Jewish and "Christian" writings composed between 200 BC and AD 200. However, they were known and were never considered scripture.

These pseudepigraphal books were never considered scripture by the Christian church because they were not authoritative, inspired, written by either Prophets or Apostles, nor do they have the power of the word of the books of the existing Bible. Therefore, since the books are not lost and were never part of the Bible to begin with, they have no bearing on the validity of the Bible.

Well I can happily say the book of Enoch was never in my Bible to begin with so I do not have that problem.

As for fallen angels, no their is no such thing. It would be like saying a fallen car, an angel is just a divine tool, nothing more.

The same is true for "the devil" simply a tool.

The devil is no more evil than a hand gun
