Why don't you ask him / her.......has he / she answered?.......Guess we'll never know!! Personally, the only thing I've seen from both the new and old testament is practically everything we, as human beings do, is a sin, with the exception of s*x! If you do believe in God (Or any Deity for that matter) I think you and it should be more concerned about who you are internally, rather than aesthetic appearances. In some eyes, having tattoos, ulterior style choices or body modification is an indication that you are a "Damaged being," - In my eyes, it means that you have chosen to take responsibility in your own life and displaying your creativity through artwork is no different that being outspoken or choosing to have your own mind, style and sense of self...if these things are blasphemous, then I've definitely screwed up! People can thumbs down me for being biased (Due to the fact I'm Atheist), but my opinion is based solely on choosing to believe in scientific proof over a scripture that was written by human beings I have never met! - Just a fact :) You may have more than one life (I can't claim that you don't) but the one you currently have is the one you should focus on and, whether you chose to tattoo your body or not should be at the very bottom of your priorities list. If you don't feel 100% ready, wait it out....if you do, go for it...the choice is yours, not ours! Best of luck (^_^)

What is wrong is when people do it without understanding WHY they are doing it and ignoring certain risks when doing it in places that should not be tampered with.
Tattoo, body piercings and scarification's (I'm still waiting for western culture to make this a trend!) are all art forms developed over thousands of years by cultures who, in many cases, are far wiser than us.
They learned were to do it on the body and made it part of a significant ritual (spiritual or otherwise) within their culture.
We westerners seem to focus on the ego-driven, in-your-face whims that prevail in our society.
Most of us who resort to body art do so because:
1. our friends are doing it;
2. we think it's "cool";
3. some celebrity did it.
In other words...we follow the leaders and don't bother to think for ourselves.
What could have been considered unique has become routine, mundane and somewhat contrite.
There are a few people in western society who actually understand and respect the significance of body art.
A book I read some 15 years ago is worth mentioning.
Check the link if you are interested in learning.
If not...then, just be a follower.

What is "body piercing armor" ?? Is that some sort of stealth attack weapon that we hand out to insurgents?
Edit to Mable: Actually, when employers get wise to the fact that professionalism is in your abilities and conduct and not your appearance, and when they figure out that the employers who already know this are getting all of the best employees, it probably won't be a big deal. i know we have people with piercings and tattoos in my office and the do an excellent job... and isn't THAT what it's really about?

Who knows. Piercings you can remove with little to no difficulty whenever you want (I had my nose pierced at fifteen, took it out when I was sixteen. The hole was gone after a week).
Tattoos aren't as easily removed, but it's possible. They could also be covered through use of special makeup. I can see how tattoos all over your face could be impractical (unless you worked at a tattoo shop), but what people do to their bodies is their own business.

I don't have any piercings due to so many infections I'm exposed to at work, and some are incurable.
But I want a tatoo.
Neither is wrong as I see it. It may be a bad decision if not thought out but not a sin.

Did you mean to inflict that song on us too? Misery loves company.
The Kosher laws do not and have never applied to Gentiles.
One of other explanations I have heard that "your body is temple of god, do not defile it" to which the argument is that it is being beautified (for Jews this also might go against "graven images") by the tattoos.
Their argument to that is that it is prideful like wearing extravagant jewelry.

Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Yeah, some people think it is deflining one's temple. If they believe that, then don't do it. End of story. I don't God cares what I am doing to the outside of my body as much as how I am showing love to other people in this world. God looks at my heart, not the outer appearance. Besides, all I am doing is decorating my temple. ;-)

I don't see any problems. I've personally removed all my piercings, but still like my tattoo and plan on getting a second.
As was stated, I'm somewhat limited due to work environment. Out if sight, no biggy though.

Hiya Bettie. On women, tats and piercings are like trying to enhance the Mona Lisa with a can of spray paint. Same with boob jobs--yuck.
