I keep hearing all the non-believers saying that Christians keep sending out Violation notices to them, but I just got a Violation notice for asking for people to pray for me. What's wrong with asking for prayers? It had nothing to do with non-believers, I wasn't bad mouthing anyone, I just wanted a little more prayers, so why did that person report me, it had nothing to do with them.

No, Jesus never said the exact three words, "I am God". But Jesus also never said the exact four words, "I am a prophet" or the exact four words "I am a man," but we know he was both a prophet and a man. It is not necessary for Jesus to say the exact phrase "I am a man" for us to know that he was a man. Likewise, it is not necessary for Jesus to utter the exact three words "I am God" in order for us to determine whether or not he is divine. Jesus may not have said the exact sentence "I am God" but he did claim the divine name for himself (Exo. 3:14 with John 8:58) and he also received worship (Matt. 2:2; 14:33; 28:9; John 9:35-38).
When Moses was up at the Mount speaking to God, Moses asked God what his name was. God said, "I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you,’” (Exodus 3:14). In John 8:58 Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” Right after this the Jews pick up stones to throw at him. Later, in John 10:30-33 Jesus claimed to be one with the Father and the Jews wanted to stone him again because they said to Jesus, "You, being a man, make yourself out to be God." Jesus had claimed the divine name for his own in the Jews wanted to kill him for it. Therefore, from Jesus' own mouth we see that he was claiming to be God.

The words "I am"

Now please understand that anyone can say the words "I am" and it does not mean that he is claiming to be God. Someone could say, "I am over here." That is not claiming the divine name. Likewise, someone could say, "I am hungry," or "I am sick." Neither example is claiming divinity because the use of term "I am" in context clearly shows us that is not what is occurring. But, in John 8:58 when Jesus said "before Abraham was born, I am," the Jews knew exactly what he was saying. Notice that he says before Abraham was born (using the past tense) and then he switches to the present tense when he says "I am." Jesus switches tenses of the verbs on purpose so that when he does so in the context of referencing Abraham, Jesus is clearly drawing the Jews' attention to the Old Testament Scriptures and then using a present tense form of the verb "to be" by saying "I AM". Someone who says "I am hungry" is not drawing attention to the Old Testament Scriptures for context.
Jesus was clearly causing the Jews to reflect upon the divine name "I am" that Jesus used for himself. We know that they understood this because as is said above, they said, "You, being a man, make yourself out to be God," (John 10:33

To heal the rift that has been between them for so long?

And I am not looking for answers that require one to cave in to the demands of the other, but answers that both Catholics and Protestants could embrace as a starting point to find a common ground between them to begin either a re-unification of the Body of Christ, or at least an agreement to disagree on some issues, and an agreement on others. With the eventual goal being one Body of Christ that can function together without a bitterness or resentment over doctrinal issues.

I just read this gem: "I don't think it is possible for a real Christian to fall in love with an Atheist." It seems like the list of qualifications for being a "real Christian" keeps growing.

So far according to R&S world a real Christian can not be liberal, a feminist, any orientation but straight and can never under any circumstances question their beliefs, speak out against the president, mention global warming, or fall in love with an atheist.

Anything else I should know?

Isn't it true that the Mormons have urbain ledgens about apostates and people leaving the church dying shortly after rejecting it? Your fate is sealed and God plagues you with an disease and you die with in so many days? I think ussually the Ledgen goes that the ex-mormon catches a severe mental illness and take their own life. It's ussually to scair people into not leaving. I was NEVER a baptized Mormon. They totally rejected me. After a year of them making me depressed I finally joined the Re-organized church and have a lot of pace. Well, I got bit by a bat last night and if I don't get a shot every week for a month, I could die in 20 days. I made a connection and laughed, joking that my death would be in a book of Mormon urbain ledgens. I'm going to be okay, I'm not going to die as long as I keep getting the shots and even if I did die, I have complete peace that I'll go to heaven. But I just thought it was hillarious. I don't care about the Mormons their Urbain Ledgens.

It seems like a pretty clear sign that GW was doing something wrong. Why hasn't he changed his approach to any of our major national issues? Surely, if God told him to attack Iraq, then he could understand the message when God told him through Katrina that he screwed up.

Why hasn't he taken God's message that we're doing the wrong thing in Iraq, since God has killed so many people there?

I thought he had God's ear and all that. Has GW stopped listening to God? Should we impeach him for ignoring God?

My boyfriend went to Germany to stay for a year his Freshman college year. He said that in Germany, they have many sex shops and that it is clean and decent and out in the open. They don't view sex like we do, they have shows and films that you can watch, and it isn't looked down upon and is just part of the culture. Why don't we have them here? Why are we Americans so uptight and stupid when it comes to sex? Yet we have no problem with violence which is much worse. Is it the religious uptight people that fight to have these places outlawed? Churches are free to exist, why not sex shops?

Most seem incompatible and make up their own beliefs.
All seem to think they have the "truth" JWs follow a belief system made up a few hundred tears ago, Mormons have a set of beliefs based on a dream that some guy had. Ever protestants, who have thousands of sects got their initial direction from a Jew hating monks some 400 years ago.

Luther incidently heavily influenced the ideology of Adolf Hitler who admired luthers writings about killing off the Jews.

So how do you know the truth, there is one thing talking about Christianity, Islam, Buddisim, etc but these splinter groups dont have any grounding in anything that has any history. Christianity does have a group that decended from the teahings of christ and his followers (catholics) but what about the others.

Its no big deal what the bible says because you can interpret it a thousand (35,000) ways and the JWs and Mormons do the same thing.

What they lack is the history and teachings of the early church fathers.
