God is ALL powerful. He can do anything. Just like some of the others have said just b/c he can do it doesn't mean he will b/c that might not be in his plan for that individual or situation. God can control everything but he also gave us all free will and it's up to us how we want to live our lives. God loves everyone even the people who don't love him, and the decisions that we make here on earth determine some of the consequences that we will have to deal with here and at the end of time.

Okay, here's a solution that should please everyone. God IS all-powerful. He can do anything he wants. But if he were to manage everything in the universe to prevent harm, the physical laws of the universe would be so completely obscured by all the interventions that humanity would remain childishly ignorant forever, and that is not God's will. But God does not intend to play favorites, and any intervention would be favoritism by its excusion of other interventions. So God does nothing. See? A perfect solution.

Or maybe it won't.

It is one of the classic proofs against.

If God is all powerful and all loving, then he cannot exist. The suffering and destruction would not be allowed by an all loving god so he cannot be all powerful.

Or, he is all powerful and chooses not to do anything about it and that would make Him not all loving.

Either the suffering is beyond His power or he allows it. So he cannot be BOTH all powerful and all loving.

God is All-Powerful and All-Knowing.

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." --Isaiah 55:9.

"For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." --Ecclesiastes 12:14.

"Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers..." --Job 8:20.

Hope these will help.

Peace be with you.

He is all powerful. There is nothing he can't do -- but He doesn't contradict Himself. In other words, no He won't make a rock that is so big and heavy that not even He can pick it up.

And He deals in reality, not fantasy. He can't know the future because the future only exists in people's imaginations. It's not reality. God only deals with reality, not Isaac Asimov sci fi.

Yes, He is all powerful.

Lets see. So if you pray for happiness, do you think He will simply give you a sudden surge of joy, or will He show you how to become happy. If you pray for a new cell phone, do you think He will poof up one right in front of you, or show you how to get a new cell phone? (ok bad example)

The point is, God attacks the root of what you pray for. If He decides to grant your wish, He will do what is best for you, not what you think is best for you.

The bible says nothing is impossible for God. Therefore, there is nothing He cannot do, should He choose.

This of course doesn't include silly questions that come along as, can God make a stone so large He cannot lift it.

Nonsensical things don't enter into this equation.

'God is all powerful, but he works in mysterious ways'.

That's the answer Christians use whenever they can't answer questions like this. It gets the old boy off scot free every time.

He is ALL powerful. When it comes to answering prayers he can do anything but there are times when you may ask for something that may not be in line with His Will or may not be what you really need.
You'll get what you need but it may not be what you asked for.
For example: My family was moving from VA to NYC and money was tight. My Mom prayed for more money. Instead a neighbor left a bag of groceries on our front step.
Not what was asked for, but what was needed....
