Because the leaders of those countries have twisted the Koran so that they can keep a stranglehold on power. Any freedom, religious or otherwise, is a danger to their power.
Iraq had a thriving Christian community before the US invaded - look up the Chaldean and Assyrian churches. But after the stability there was destroyed, the radicals starting eliminating the Christians there.
To them, the West = Christianity. Not allowing them in to their countries is their way of keeping Western thought out.

Same reason that Christians are persecuted for their beliefs in America - lack of tolerance. Companies have prayer rooms for Islams but heaven forbid you bring out the Christian Bible during your lunch hour. People get freaked out and start complaining.
Sad that a country which was founded on religious freedom can't be more tolerant. But I guess if you're in the minority you have a better chance of having your needs met.

Because these countries are not democracies. You take your freedoms for granted. Besides, Christians are not the only ones suffering. Muslims suffer under oppressive governments as well.
Considering the history of christian missionaries and the harm they do to native cultures, I can't say that I blame these countries.

The reason is they have never had separation of church and state.. like our country.. Thats the only reason you are able to practice your religion freely...
Now for the hypocrisy, Christian right wing groups are doing everything they can to break down this wall.. An example would be putting the 10 commandments on the court house steps, forcing children to say prayer in school and im sure you can think of the rest...
They are so brainwashed, they cannot follow the serious implications of their political practices. If they have their way, there will be no separation of church and state and the mideast scenario you describe above will happen here...
Get out your Berka's and cover those legs....

Firstly, where do you get your facts? Have you ever been to one of those countries? Do you know any Muslims from there? I do. They are the kindest, most generous people I've ever met, far above & beyond any "christians" I've known in my life.
Secondly, not everywhere is Amerika & even in Amerika certain groups are not allowed "freedom of religion," regardless of the rhetoric.
Not to mention that class wars (as you've mentioned,) cross boundaries everywhere, anyway. Everyone has their own reasons for keeping others down. It's much more complicated than you seem to think.

You've carefully mentioned two Islamic countries that are not lenient in this regard while poorly attempting to prove your point.... Saudi Arabia and Iran.
What about the rest of the Muslim countries in the world?
Pakistan, UAE, Turkey, Egypt etc... They're pretty ok with the religious tolerance issue, you know.

the information you provided isn't accurate information at all.
in Egypt for example, churches are all over the country and they show sunday prayer on tv for Christians. and NO there is no such a thing called death penalty to wear a cross in Sudia Arabia. Christians are part of the society of these countries, however as any minorities they try to prove themselves. and they do preach their religion on the church. also there are laws in Muslim country that prohibit Muslims from preaching in certain areas.

i live in a muslim country too and here they have churches, christian schools, holidays for christmas, easter. all the malls are decorated with christmass trees and christmass is celebrated openly.
people can wear a cross and practice their religion freely provided they dont try and convert muslims.
if you are from america or the west, i like to ask you why have you put up this question?? dont u see the hate , discrimination and racisim many nationalities and religions still face in ur country and in western society??
if america is boasting freedom of speech and equality so then why do certain nationalities , coloured people , different religious people still suffer racism at work places,on the streets in department stores all over the west?....
you are not allowed to wear a cross and it bothers you so much than why is it if a muslim women or a sikh man chooses to wear a head cover she/he is mocked and looked down upon in the west?
if you have my answers then you will understand the answer to your questions too.
if you can guarantee me a religion who's followers are full of justice, equality, free from racism/discrimination,honest,peaceful..bla bla bla then i am ready to change to your religion right now! i challenge you!
