I keep hearing all the non-believers saying that Christians keep sending out Violation notices to them, but I just got a Violation notice for asking for people to pray for me. What's wrong with asking for prayers? It had nothing to do with non-believers, I wasn't bad mouthing anyone, I just wanted a little more prayers, so why did that person report me, it had nothing to do with them.

There's nothing wrong with it. You can be reported for absolutely anything. And I pray to God that He take away your desire for cigarettes and that it never return.

There are idiots on both sides.
The only people that should be reported are those that are here just to insult. Though I will never pray for you since prayer is not my way, you have every right to ask others for them.
Just like I have the right to say that prayer is just a way for people to feel that they are helping or are getting help when there is no way to help.

Well the Yahoo Answers creators and admins do continue to delude themselves into thinking this is a serious scholarly question-and-answer site where genuine knowledge is shared ....
... rather than a social networking site a la Myspace (and I just saw the famous "Tom" on here no less!!!!!) where people ask questions of a more social nature, if they even bother to make it a question at all.
So you are feeling the consequences of the delusions of the Yahoo staff, tis all. Life goes on.

First, let me clarify that I'm a Christian. I fully support your question, but sadly, it was outside of Yahoo's "rules."
My guess is that you were reported for not asking a *true* question that could be answered outside of "yes" or "no." If you had asked for prayer, then also asked if there were any Christians who had been delivered from smoking through prayer (and invited their testimony), then it would have been an acceptable Yahoo Question.
p.s. -- I done as you requested, and have prayed that you be delivered from smoking. Be healed, brother!

As far as i can tell if some idiot flags you they just take it down...I give so called Christians on here all kinds of static, but if someone like yourself asked me to pray for you, I would in my own way... So Im praying for you....hope it helps....
update: I just read you want someone to pray for you to stop smoking... Thats real easy,, just keep your hands away from your face, you don't need prayer you need a patch...

You broke the rules on Yahoo Answers.
You are only supposed to ask questions that have an answer.
Asking for something like a prayer is not a question, it is a request. Read the rules, there are lots of things that are banned.

I'm proud of every violation notice i've ever received.
Only the Y!A team-bot sends these notices. Community members attract the bot's attention by using the Report Abuse feature.
Your question was not a question - it was a chatty appeal, and was a violation of the community guidelines.
While I didn't report you (I report nobody,) I think you deserved the violation notice. Now be proud of it.

This is a site for asking questions to receive information. Prayer requests do not fit that format. They are a violation of the Community Guidelines. While I never report them myself, I can understand how they get deleted. This is not that kind of forum.
If you violate the Community Guidelines and someone catches it, your question will be deleted.

What makes you think it was a nonbeliever? There are many faiths represented here beside Christianity.
