Isn't it true that the Mormons have urbain ledgens about apostates and people leaving the church dying shortly after rejecting it? Your fate is sealed and God plagues you with an disease and you die with in so many days? I think ussually the Ledgen goes that the ex-mormon catches a severe mental illness and take their own life. It's ussually to scair people into not leaving. I was NEVER a baptized Mormon. They totally rejected me. After a year of them making me depressed I finally joined the Re-organized church and have a lot of pace. Well, I got bit by a bat last night and if I don't get a shot every week for a month, I could die in 20 days. I made a connection and laughed, joking that my death would be in a book of Mormon urbain ledgens. I'm going to be okay, I'm not going to die as long as I keep getting the shots and even if I did die, I have complete peace that I'll go to heaven. But I just thought it was hillarious. I don't care about the Mormons their Urbain Ledgens.

I cannot imagine why anyone in the LDS church would reject anyone else. Unless of course you publicly denounced our faith and then were rude and obnoxious inside the building during services. But even when I've seen this, I have NEVER seen anyone asked to leave, much less not come back. You rejected the LDS church not the other way around. Besides, if some people were rude to you there, that's the people, not the faith.

As for urban legends, those are everywhere in every faith and every walk of life. Like the one of the little girl who had some mysterious man in the car with her while waiting for help to arrive after an accident where her mom (sometimes it's her dad) was killed. Then later she saw a picture of Christ (like she had never seen one before) and said that was the man with her.

Come on...don't believe everything you hear.

Apostates and people leaving the church dying shortly after rejecting it? I'm sorry, but I've been a Mormon all my life and have never heard that. This Mormon legend you're talking about must not've made it to Utah.

Okay. I think you're asking if Mormons have urban legends. I don't remember ever hearing of any about people if they leave the church.

And it doesn't bother me if you've decided that another church is right for you. Gotta live according to your beliefs.

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, also known as Mormons, and I've never heard that. So I think you're safe my friend!

What's a "ledgen?" And what do you mean by you now have "pace?" Also, what does "scair" mean? I think this question will become a scary legend of what happens when people don't have peace with literacy.

First, good luck with the bat thing. That kinda sucks.

Second, 26 years in the LDS church and I've never heard an urban legend like that.

Glad you are not dying

Never heard that U.L. at all

I hear the U.L. about not-well-known general authorities entering the wrong meeting, realizing their mistake and then leaving in the middle of the meeting. The next day members are gossiping about an angel visiting their meeting and leaving half way through.

You're probably referring to urban legends. This could be one of them. You would have to not only die, but you would have to not prosper in order to fulfill that. I wish you a speedy recovery and a prosperous life.

No. There this is never a topic of conversation. If some one wants to join another church, there is no curse connected.
