Is that why the authorities hide the Gospel of Barnabas to be added into the Bible?

And having said this, Jesus smote his face with both his hands, and then smote the ground with his head. And having raised his head, he said: "Cursed be every one who shall insert into my sayings that I am the son of God" (53)

Because this supposed gospel was not God-breathed.

It contradicts the rest of Scripture.....it's a farce and it's heresy

The 27 books of the New Testament were widely accepted by the members of the early church long before the leaders got around to proclaiming them the canon.

Just like today there were all kinds of pseudo-Christian groups coming up with "interesting" doctrine and writing gospels to back them up. The group called Gnostics wrote the gospel of Judas in this way.

The Gospel of Barnabas is thought by scholars to have been written in the 14th century by a Muslim. http://answering-islam.org/Green/barnabas.htm

The four Gospels that were chosen were the only ones to be written in the first century and by either the original Apostles or their close companions.

The mainstream Christians of the day had absolutely no problem with the 27 books selected as canon.

With love in Christ.

Consider this tremendous quote from the real Barnabas whose epistle (A.D.60-75) was found fully preserved in the manuscript of the 4th century Codex Sinaiticus:

“Because they shall see Him then in that day having a scarlet robe about his body down to his feet; and they shall say, is not this He whom we once despised, and pierced, and mocked, and crucified? Truly this is He who then declared Himself to be the Son of God (Epistle of Barnabas Chapter VII).

Here is the real question why do these two Barnabas writings conflict each other so much if they are indeed the same writer, and why does the earlier writings of Barnabas make no mention of Allah, Muhammad, or Muslim? They both can be found wrong but both can't be found right.

The Gospel of Barnabas was written hundreds of years after Jesus was crucified; therefore, it seems logical that the Barnabas written of in the Bible didn't write it. The actual author was a Gnostic.

So since it wasn't written by one of the Apostles or disciples, why should it be considered Biblical canon? The answer is: it shouldn't!

The FACT is that, aside from the New Testament writers, ALL of the early church writers (late 1st century and early 2nd century) believed Jesus is the Son of God, AND God in the flesh.

The Gospel of Barnabas was not "revealed" until AT LEAST the 14th century. Do a little research into the history of that false gospel and you will quickly come to understand that it is a forgery and a fake. It is a proven hoax, and you would be wise to distance yourself as far as possible from that and other similar Islamic hoaxes.

It's never a surprise when I see an Islamic hoax...ever. It's almost like hoaxes are NEEDED to support Islam.

Good luck with Mohammad's religion, and may God grant you the wisdom and courage to see beyond the lies of your Muslim brothers and sisters.

The Gospel of Baranbas is a proven fraud and it says Jesus is the Christ yet not the Messiah which makes no sense the Christ is the Messiah it also says Muhammad is the Messiah All of this teaches against your Qu'ran. The book was written by a Muslim without the understanding even of his own Qu'ran. Check the definition of the word Christ and the word Messiah. This is just the beginning of many problems with this book.

To say Jesus is The Christ is Greek. (The Anointed)
To say Jesus is The Messiah is Hebrew.(The Anointed)
You can not be one without being the other.
I can say the same thing by sying Jesus is (The Anointed)
Note the word the. Many are anointed but there is only one that is The Anointed of God.

This Gospel of Barnabas is not written by the Barnabas of the Bible.

The Gospel of Barnabas was not penned by Barnabas, but was penned by a gnostic apostostate. Here is what St. Barnabas did actually write on the topic in his own hand in his own Epistle.

"And further, my brethren, if the Lord [Jesus] endured to suffer for our soul, he being the Lord of all the world, to whom God said at the foundation of the world, `Let us make man after our image, and after our likeness,' understand how it was that he endured to suffer at the hand of men" (Epistle of Barnabas 5 [A.D. 75]).

Jesus testified MANY times that he was the Son of God, in fact, that was the whole reason that the Jews crucified him. If he is not the Son of God, then the whole New Testament is a lie. That would make us Jews, not Christians, LOL.

djmantx, extremely well said! :-)
I'm glad that's a proven fraud. Don't be surprised that an Islamic wrote that, since the Qur'an allows Muslims to lie in order to defend Islam, as well as kill and so on and so on....as we've heard and seen....Have a good day.
