Although some truths can be gleaned from the Bible, I don't think it would be possible for any physical object to be inerrant. After all, if a person or group of persons recieved a vision from God, the biases and limited intellects of these people will result in a some loss of information as the recollection of the event is put down in these people's original language. A further loss of information would occur as the original language itself changes and its original meaning distorted as it is translated into other languages. The Ancient Hebrew and Aramaic Old Testament is closer (but not exact) to the original meaning of the visions and revelations as well as the original Classical Greek books of the New Testament.

If there is no creator, no one true God. Than why can't we create something using anything other than what already exists?

We have created many things here on earth, but all of the things we create are created by a force or material, or living cells that God has already created.

And to all scientists, I have read your books and theories. All of them formulated by man and nothing explained enough to satisfy anyone, which is why we still debate.

What has been explained to you in the Bible is beyond comprehension, and so you feel the need to explain Heavenly things with man's earthly mind.

Only on Judgement Day will you see for sure, and by then it will be too late........

As I have said in recent answers of mine. I do not feel I am special than any other. I do not know why Christ chose to save me. I only rejoice that he has and want to hear what some of you think so that I may pray that Christ will also save you.

God is quick to forgive any sin, when we ask...

"will enlarge his perceptions "

If this is an inner experience, then how can ones perceptions be 'enlarged'?
What would have to be true for this to be possible?

Got insight?

Mine is...Well one of my favorite's =o)

Book John
Version NIV
Chapter 15
Verse 18-21

18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember the words I spoke to you: `No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me.

(Mark 4:11-12
And he said to them, "To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables; so that they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand; lest they should turn again, and be forgiven.")

What I don't understand is the last part of the last sentence: "lest they should turn again, and be forgiven." Why doesn't Jesus want the outsiders to be forgiven? What exactly does he mean by "turn again"?

Thanks so much!

(They aren't the same thing, although there is some overlap, and you can be both, or one or the other. Sometimes people refer to them as though they are the same.)

I'm curious about another part of that quote.

"...he will experience the reality and uniqueness of as many other aspects of reality.."

"uniqueness of as many other aspects"

Is this implying that uniqueness is retained or is it implying that uniqueness is encountered as you are "swept along in a gestalt of comprehension"? Or both? If uniqueness exists at deeper aspects of oneness (paradox?) then should we also be capable of retaining it there?
And what about those 'aspects'. Are these aspects other dimensions, or are they ways in which something can be viewed by the mind, i.e., 'he looked at all aspects of the situation', or both, or something else?

Take your time.~sip~

I am a very religious woman, and my husband also has strong religious beliefs. We have always had a troubled relationship. He used to drink exessively and that caused our family huge problems (financial, emotional, and otherwise) for the first five years of our marriage. I left him and he promised to change if I took him back. After 6 months, I did. I found that the drinking was not necesarilly our entire problem. It was just so big, and he was so absent, that I didn't notice the others as much. I feel affection for him, and do not have trouble being physically attracted to him. Often, I feel like I love him, but often I don't. Sometimes, I even hate him. Which is awful, because how I believe, Love God, and love everyone else. I do not have trouble loving my neighbor. Sometimes the biggest thing I resent him for is that he ever convinced me to marry him. I was on the rebound and thought I was in love again. How is it that I can love and forgive the whole world, but not him? Help!

I am asking Christians who support the Iraq war to help me understand their position. The Bible, and Jesus were clear on the subject of how to treat our enemies:

Luke 6:29
Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

This pretty much sums it up for me, as well as provides a theme for Christianity. It is very much in line with the Golden Rule. Of course it makes us choose between the fear of death and the love of God. But what is more important?

Life is not a longevity contest. It's about quality, not quantity.

Thanks all

Why do certain Bible substitute the word "charity" for love in 1 Corinthians 13. The greek word agape is the word for love, yet King James and other Bibles have inserted instead charity. Is this corrupting the word of God?

I'm curious about this particular portion of that quote. (that was from Seth Speaks by Jane Roberts, by the way)

"...enlarge his perceptions until he will experience the reality and uniqueness of as many other aspects of reality of which he is capable."

"...of which he is capable."

What makes a person capable?

ca·pa·ble (kp-bl) KEY

ADJECTIVE:

Having capacity or ability; efficient and able.
Having the ability required for a specific task or accomplishment; qualified.
Having the inclination or disposition.
Permitting an action to be performed.

What was it about you that made you capable? Did it come naturally? Did you have to work at it? To me, it seems like all the 'random factors' had to align at just the right time and place for this to happen.(there are no accidents) What did you do at just the right place and time?
Also, is it possible to become more capable? To perfect your capability?
Is that even desirable?

Three copies of a hybrid gene that transport glucose were added to the sequence at the end of the experiment.

If you define information at the DNA level, this is a novel sequence with the preexisting sequences conserved.

If you define information as mRNA transcription, there is more mRNA produced.

Ok, so I saw this question and I was interested, but then I saw the full question and was upset because it was misleading...so here is my version.

Give me a list of people(known to have been atheists with quote or links to quotes of them saying they're atheists) are seen as "big shots" in the atheist world. In the christian culture we had people like Mother Tereasa, Pope John Paul II, Kirk Cameron(who helps spread the word) and others...but I don't really know any well known, outspoken, atheists...

The father of the HOLOCAUST in Germany :::

Did I not tell you earlier that a Jew is such a noble, precious jewel that God and all the angels dance when he farts?---Martin Luther (Germany)

“What then shall we Christians do with this damned, rejected race of Jews?
First, their synagogues should be set on fire, and whatever does not burn up should be covered or spread over with dirt so that no one may ever be able to see a cinder or stone of it. And this ought to be done for the honour of God and of Christianity, in order that God may see that we are true Christians.
Secondly, their homes should be likewise broken down and destroyed.
Thirdly, they should be deprived of their prayerbooks and talmuds in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught.
Fourthly, their rabbis must be forbidden under threats of death to teach anymore.” – Martin Luther

“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.” – Martin Luther

“I hope I shall never be so stupid as to be circumcised; I would rather cut off the left breast of my Catherine and of all women.” --- Martin Luther

“If we are to remain unsullied by the blasphemy of the Jews and not wish to take part in it, we must be separated from them and they must be driven out of the country.” – Martin Luther

Jesus did not call them Abraham's children, but a "brood of vipers" [Matt. 3:7]. Oh, that was too insulting for the noble blood and race of Israel, and they declared, "He has a demon' [Matt 11:18]. Our Lord also calls them a "brood of vipers"; furthermore in John 8 [:39,44] he states: "If you were Abraham's children ye would do what Abraham did.... You are of your father the devil. It was intolerable to them to hear that they were not Abraham's but the devil's children, nor can they bear to hear this today.------Martin Luther

Learn from this, dear Christian, what you are doing if you permit the blind Jews to mislead you. Then the saying will truly apply, "When a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into the pit" [cf. Luke 6:39]. You cannot learn anything from them except how to misunderstand the divine commandments...------Martin Luther

St. John Chrysostom: “I know that many people hold a high regard for the Jews and consider their way of life worthy of respect at the present time... This is why I am hurrying to pull up this fatal notion by the roots ... A place where a whore stands on display is a whorehouse. What is more, the synagogue is not only a whorehouse and a theater; it is also a den of thieves and a haunt of wild animals ... not the cave of a wild animal merely, but of an unclean wild animal ... When animals are unfit for work, they are marked for slaughter, and this is the very thing which the Jews have experienced. By making themselves unfit for work, they have become ready for slaughter. This is why Christ said: “as for my enemies, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them and slay them before me’ (Luke 19.27).”

Therefore be on your guard against the Jews, knowing that wherever they have their synagogues, nothing is found but a den of devils in which sheer self-glory, conceit, lies, blasphemy, and defaming of God and men are practiced most maliciously and veheming his eyes on them.---------Martin Luther

Moreover, they are nothing but thieves and robbers who daily eat no morsel and wear no thread of clothing which they have not stolen and pilfered from us by means of their accursed usury. Thus they live from day to day, together with wife and child, by theft and robbery, as arch-thieves and robbers, in the most impenitent security.
--------Martin Luther

However, they have not acquired a perfect mastery of the art of lying; they lie so clumsily and ineptly that anyone who is just a little observant can easily detect it.

But for us Christians they stand as a terrifying example of God's wrath.-----Martin Luther

...but then eject them forever from this country. For, as we have heard, God's anger with them is so intense that gentle mercy will only tend to make them worse and worse, while sharp mercy will reform them but little. Therefore, in any case, away with them!-------Martin Luther

However, we must avoid confirming them in their wanton lying, slandering, cursing, and defaming. Nor dare we make ourselves partners in their devilish ranting and raving by shielding and protecting them, by giving them food, drink, and shelter, or by other neighborly acts..------Martin Luther

If we wish to wash our hands of the Jews' blasphemy and not share in their guilt, we have to part company with them. They must be driven from our country.-----Martin Luther

They [rulers] must act like a good physician who, when gangrene has set in proceeds without mercy to cut, saw, and burn flesh, veins, bone, and marrow. Such a procedure must also be followed in this instance. Burn down their synagogues, forbid all that I enumerated earlier, force them to work, and deal harshly with them, as Moses did...

If this does not help we must drive them out like mad dogs.----Martin Luther

Martin Luther: [ in his last sermon, four days before he died, ] called for practical measures: burn their synagogues, confiscate all books in Hebrew, prohibit Jewish prayers, force them to do manual labour, and drive them out of Germany.

Because we may be related and I have some further questions.
"The inner experience with the multidimensional God can come in two main areas. One is through the realization that this prime moving force is within everything you can perceive with your senses. The other method is to realize that this primary motive force has a reality independent of its connection with the world of appearances. All personal contact with the multidimensional God, all legitimate moments of mystic consciousness will always have a unifying effect. They will not, therefore, isolate the individual involved, but instead will enlarge his perceptions until he will experience the reality and uniqueness of as many other aspects of reality of which he is capable. He will feel, therefore, less isolated and less set apart. He will not regard himself as being above others because of the experience. On the contrary he will be swept along in a gestalt of comprehension in which he realizes his own oneness wth All That Is."
