I mean, either way. None of us were there to witness what really happened at the beginning of time.(this is my first question for this section and I'm kind of worried about the responses I'm gonna get. I'm just asking a question, not trying to make a point. Please don't get mad.)

Hello,

I became Catholic in 2003 thru RCIA, and I have a question. Why is it that before the homily, the priest makes the sign of the cross on his head, mouth, and heart with his THUMB? Why not his index finger? I know why he makes the sign of the cross- God is in your mind, your voice, and your heart, but why is the THUMB used?

Thanks!

According to the bible, what is a spirit?
Like when He says, "the spirit of fear?"

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
-2 Timothy 1:7

If it's a literal invisible spirit, how does it enter into us?

I need a logical answer please.

Thanks.

To be immortal? To be rewared for virtuosity? Do you wish there would actually be an ultimate judicial authority in our universe?

I am an atheist, and, personally, I can't help but desire some of the things that my lack of belief inherently rejects.

You have to applaud Martin Luther for having the Guts to stand up and say, "Current traditions are clearly wrong and contradict scripture." during those times were No one dared to question the Roman Catholic Church. OR ELSE.
Also, what REALLY started the Protestant Reformation?
Why blame it all on Martin Luther?
Why doesnt the Roman Catholic Church take credit for it too?
If the Gates of Hell Never had prevailed against the Roman Catholic Church (Corruption in the Roman Catholic Church), the Protestant Never would had happened.

P.S. Im Not a Protestant or a Roman Catholic.

What makes the bible different from any other fictional book? I mean, if I wrote a book with a bunch of stories saying that people should worship cats (which is a very good idea, lol!) would you believe it? If I said that the way Earth was created is that a great cat master took a strange poo and it turned into Earth and that all the bacterial life on it is us and plants and other animals except for the cats which are saviours and minitures to the master that the great cat master sent us?

I mean is it because it's so old and boring and long? Is it because they add 'th' to the end of everything and use words and phrases such as 'thou art'?

Does God exist? If so, why can't atheists find Him?

Many Christians were once atheists. In fact, you could visit almost any Christian church and find members of the congregation who formerly did not believe in God. So it is not true to say that atheists cannot find God, because countless numbers have found Him.

But the Bible gives a reason why many atheists don’t find God. It says:

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

This shows that the reason many atheists never find God is because they never honestly look for Him. Christians who have been spiritually born-again know that God does reward those who seek Him — but not those who don't seek Him or those who don't care.
