According to the bible, what is a spirit?
Like when He says, "the spirit of fear?"

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
-2 Timothy 1:7

If it's a literal invisible spirit, how does it enter into us?

I need a logical answer please.

Thanks.

The word spirit is used in several way in the Bible. The basic has to do with the conscious intelligent individual entity that exists before and after mortality. However, in this case it gives a sense collectives or "organization" to an emotion. To say "the spirit of fear" is the same as saying; "they did it in a spirit of good will" or "he had a spirit of fun and laughter with him where ever he went".

A spirit is an intelligent being without a physical body.
Angels are an early creation of such, before mankind.
When Lucifer & his minions refused to serve mankind,
they were cast out of Heaven by Michael the archangel.
These (evil) spirits wander the earth looking for victims.

When I received the Holy Spirit,,,I invited him in......so any spirit outside your own,,like the spirit of fear would have to be invited in or somehow let in....I would think.

I think your own spirit,,,is that vital force that characterizes a human being as being alive. A sense of who we are. Energy, personality, attitude

....an inspiring, animated, influence...a soul....supernatural entity....there I think that about covers what I believe. LOL

You are born with the spirit and as you develop, it develops...
It is a part of our sinful nature and you personally can't make it go away, only God can.

O.K. I asked this question and I think it is an emotion fueled by a demonic spirit.
Since God has not given it to us...somebody else did...guess who?
We are to resist the devil and he will flee from us.
