"Let there be light" --And he created Earth, and it was because of him that life now exists, why aren't there life forms on OUR sun's other planets?

Ex: Why aren't there people on Jupiter?

Am I making sense?

Assume for a moment, just for the sake of debate, that God exists and is responsible for the fact that we exist. Assume that God is responsible for the fact that we have both logic and senses (sight, sound, touch, psychic ...and whatever else you want to add to the list). Why then would we assume that God would not want us to explore "his" universe and to test our senses and logic against all he has put in our "playground?"

I feel skeptical when I hear advocates of any point of view, religion in particular, telling us NOT to think or NOT to sense something because God won't love us if we do. Prime example: Don't taste that apple of knowledge.

You and millions and millions of others believe this to be happening continuously for each of you 24 hours of every day and you also believe you can have your prayers answered at any time during this period when decide to pray. While your God is doing all this, you expect and believe he will keep you all out of harms way while he is supposed to be watching over the millions and millions of believers. Also during this time, he is believed to be performing big and little miracles here and there all over the planet. As each and every human dies(thousands daily), he is expected to make continuous decisions 24 hours a day as to whether they are acceptable to him. My question is, are you folks sure you haven't stretched your beliefs of your God's abilities just a wee bit?

I just blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Then I drew a cartoon of Muhammed. A bad one. With a bomb. Then I told a Rabbi that he descended from a long list of Jews responsible for killing Jesus. Then I got a tattoo.

Please tell me I'm going to heaven...

The Bible does not say that money is the root of all evil.
It PLAINLY teaches that "the love of money is the root of alll evil."

Im going to take it from one perspective. This in itself is contradictory. I find it quite interesting when a homosexual believes in evolution because when it comes to "survival of the fittest", their the weakest link. They wouldve died off because they cant reproduce. Is this statement wrong? I would like to hear answers dealing with this statement only. Lets try to follow instructions on this one

well im in a bit of a dilemma.. anyone who read my earlier question about Jehovahs Witnesses knows...

ive been doing research on the religion itself because im, i guess you could call it, a potential convert.

but i need to know a lot more before i make any kind of decision.
i know this much: they study the bible regularly and basically live their life by it. but theres questions regarding the bible itself. for example we all know how old it is. there have been so many translations, a lot of them loose translations, and different interpretations from many different people throughout the years. some corrupt people in the past have twisted teachings of other work. can the same be said or the bible? its just that how do we know that every word he bible says is in gods own words? i have my beliefs and i want to join but not if theyre are asking me to completely give up what i firmly believe makes sense to me.

My friend and I are having a conversation about homosexuality and we need a Christian based answer as to why it is wrong. Not just because it condemns it in the Bible, but a solid reason.

2007-08-06 13:00:38 · 40 answers · asked by Anonymous

A friend of mine told me that if you're going through something hard that you can call on God and He will help. Even if it doesn't seem like it at the time. But if it doesn't feel like He's helping, and it doesn't feel any different, then how is that helping anything?

By the way, I'm talking about the Christian God. If you're going to try to tell me that He doesn't exist, I'll just tell you right now: I know for a fact that you're wrong. I've gone through things that you would never understand that prove He exists. So don't bother trying to tell me otherwise.
