this question is for "pro-life" people

I do not mean the man "who knocked her up" unless he performs the abortion. I mean the woman who actually has the abortion. The man who impregnated her may or may not be an accessory, it doesn't matter, that's not the question.

To clarify my last comment, I'm talking about the woman only, not the doctor, not the impregnator.

calm down gorgeoustxvile, I don't deserve your wrath, I couldn't be more pro-choice! I'm just trying to make pro-lifers think about the consequences of their position.

Well there doesn't seem to be any reasonable answer to your question. People who would say put her to death are hypocrites because are they not doing the exact thing they say the person that is aborting their baby is doing... "murder".

"If abortion were made illegal, what should be the punishment for a woman who has an abortion?" Seriously she should have to lock up the guy and his family and her family for 9 months. Or the man that impregnated her gets snipped.

She suffered enough.

She gets free medical care for 1 year.
The man gets his name and picture in paper for 1 year.
Your rose colored glasses are blocking reality - each case must be handled individually, with protection of the woman 99% in her favor. You have no conscience of rape, either by stranger or husband - it's evil. You have not mentioned incest either.
Why are you so happy to punish the woman - she is the victim?!?
Also - as you know doctors will not preform illegal operations - these will happen in back alleys - except the rich will send their daughters to advanced countries where the operation (yes killing) will happen in clean safe, well trained personnel, lighted facilities. While American poor die - because of your calous disregard for life.

What about the guy? I mean if you are going to punish the women who got the abortion, what about the guy who made her pregnant in the first place. And what about the doctor who performed the abortion? Except if it were an illegal abortion, it probably wouldn't be a doctor, rather some guy with a coat hanger. And so the women would probably end up bleeding to death that would be a bit severe, don't you think?

So why not just keep abortion legal and let people chose whether or not they want one?

does no longer or no longer it extremely is punishment sufficient for women human beings to might desire to hotel to back alley abortions with its iffy sanitary circumstances and risky strategies that could effect in an infection, death or the lack to have babies at a later time while they are needed? shall we punish those women human beings further? shall we circulate back 50 years and be regressive extremely than cutting-edge? additionally, the huge secret the pro-lifers do no longer desire you to appreciate is they desire abortions unlawful back as a manner to grant the call for for adoption interior the rustic. there replaced right into a professional-lifer that admitted this on television distinctive years in the past. course he replaced into in no way heard from back.

Abortion will never be made illegal because no one has the right to make that decision for another person.

How dare you think that you have the right to judge! Who the hell are you besides some holier than thou idiot?

After you PERSONALLY find yourself pregnant following a rape come and talk to me. Only then will you have any right to open your stupid mouth.

Women that abort does it because of fear: Fear of not having the resources, the fears of what others would say about her having the baby, fears of how it would effect her life. Based upon that I think the electric chair for the abortionist should be the right punishment.

What is the punishment for conspiring to murder your own child?
And, yes...if the state can prove that the father knew and consented to the abortion, then he, also, should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Instead of abortion, how about voluntary sterilization for people who don't want children?
Or...here's a novel idea...
How about responsible sex?
"Responsible sex" includes being responsible for the baby if and when the "protection" doesn't work...
Oh, oh, oh...I know! I know! How about people wait until they have found the person they actually want to spend the rest of their lives with, and have a family with, before they jump into bed with one another?
There used to be a word for that...give me a minute...let me think...
We called it "marriage"...
Of course, that word actually meant something back then....

Nothing. There never was a punishment for the woman when abortion was illegal, only the doctor.

Ah. And this is why I think some pro-lifers are sexist.

I think that the punishment of dying in a back room of bleeding out all over the table and floor, or of septic infection, from some hack of an abortionist -- as happened so very often to women before abortion was legal, would be enough punishment, don't you think? Oh, and the babies died too.

The pro-lifers may not think that's enough though. They would probably also condemn her to eternal hellfire and torture on top of it.
