Or would they simply have no religion or spiritual beliefs at all?

I suspect that aliens, if you refer to the "outer space" variety, exist in much the same way as Sasquatch and Santa exist.

Realistically, there are an almost infinite number of forms alien life might take, from galaxy-spanning empires to cultures that long ago transcended physical form . . . to worlds where the first lungfish are nibbling at the beaches, or the first proto-virii are assembling in the primordial soup . . .

I suspect few, if any, of them are particularly interested in *us,* despite our monotheism-inspired tendency to see ourselves as the center of the universe . . . as for what form the more advanced species might take, I think that the Star Trek "nose, forehead, and ears" SOP is far more likely Lucas' Star Wars cartoon goofiness; evolution tends to select logical choices and bipedalism, opposable thumbs, omnivore dentation and predator depth perception all contribute to facility with making and using tools---making things to make things with is where it all begins.

Given that scenario---again, only one or several of an infinite number of possibilities---they might well have some form of religious belief. Altruism conferred an evolutionary advantage here and may have done much the same elsewhere, and religious beliefs were one of OUR earliest developments . . . why believe it to have been unique?

Actually, we only assume that aliens would be technologically advanced if they were able to come and visit us. Otherwise they could be more, less or the same as us.

As far as religion goes we have no idea.

Hard to say. I think there are probably infinite possibilities of what aliens would believe, just as there are among humankind so many different beliefs. Why would it be any different for aliens? Probably they come from all over the universe, and would have different belief systems and cultures.

Alien life may not even have DNA like we do, they may not have faces, or arms and legs like most of our animals do. No one knows what type of life has evolved on other planets, let alone what they're spiritual beliefs may be.

Makes you wonder what will happen when they do visit us, if they have never heard of Jesus, then what?

Actually there is a theory that God was an alien. Your avatar looks like my cat Hypatia.

its life, Jim, but not as we know it...
he's dead, Jim, dead, Jim, dead, Jim....
there's Klingons on the starboard bow...
you canna change the laws of physics...

Star Trekking, across the universe.

Why do people assume that, if aliens exist, that there are more advanced? What if they're living in the stone age...

I think it could go either way. Or maybe they're like us, some believe and some don't.
