Not that I agree with it, but:

Leviticus 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

and

Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

While rape of a woman by a man means the victim is absolved of wrongdoing (Deuteronomy 22:25 - But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:) a man raped by another does not appear to gain the same.

It is important to note that Lesbian activity is not precluded, as the verse applies only to men.

Also note that Leviticus has alot to say on sexual issues outside man on man action. You shouldn't even see a naked female (or even male) close relative, and vis versa (see below)

18:7 - The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover - (with subsequent verses against viewing the nakedness of pretty much anyone but yourself and your wife)
20:10 - And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
20:18 - And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
20:19 - And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, nor of thy father's sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity

Pretty tough stuff, but Moses had just returned and found his people strutting around a Golden Calf. Probably wasn't one of his better mood days....

Oh, and respect your parents! The penalty for not doing so is the same as fornicating with farm animals:

20:9 - For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

Nice to see the usual phalanx of strong opinions and weak references; ignoring context as a matter of standard procedure.

Kudos to the Deut 18:22 reference, which answers the young man's question. Deut 20:13 has a bit more edge.

It might be helpful to define abomination.( I was once told straight-faced that it meant having dinner with foreigners.)
The reference is to some great act or status of corruption and befoulment, of contamination and filthiness, which would bring to pass destruction, ruination, devastation, and desolation.

I've known people to take the attitude that since the sin they were committing was not specifically listed in the Bible, they were justified..As though they thought "Bible" meant "Exhaustive List of All the Things God Will Kill You For"

Post-exodus Israel was in rough shape and required some tough love and micro-management for a very long time.

Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses, He did not destroy it and start again with something totally different. His commandment to love one another was not to say " Now everyone should engage in at least a few same-sex encounters."

Control of our passions, appetites, and desires is a key issue in the gospel. We cannot have what He means for us to become if we are unable to control our own selves.

You are left to choose for yourself. Don't give up treasures later for trash now.

Grins :)

I'm too lazy to search also, so instead, I'll quote you a passage from the Bible that demonstrates why homophobia is an abomination:

"Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. The commandments, 'You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet'; and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law." (Romans 13:8-10)

Try reading Leviticus 20:13
"13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
[King james version]

Romans 1:26-27
" 26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:'

'27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."
[King James Version]

1 timothy 1:8-10
"8But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;'

'9Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,'

'10For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;"
[King James Version]

There ya go [:

ESV Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

KJV Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Romans 1:26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

It's in Leviticus, silly, the same book where it says we should kill people who worship other faiths and that eating shellfish is a sin. You know, right after Deuteronomy, where it says to stone disobedient children.
Good thing Christians get to pick and choose the parts of the bible they want to pay attention to and which to ignore, huh??

1 Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

There's this bit in the old testament where god tells everyone to stone homosexuals to death, I think it's leviticus but I may be wrong.
