The father of the HOLOCAUST in Germany :::

Did I not tell you earlier that a Jew is such a noble, precious jewel that God and all the angels dance when he farts?---Martin Luther (Germany)

“What then shall we Christians do with this damned, rejected race of Jews?
First, their synagogues should be set on fire, and whatever does not burn up should be covered or spread over with dirt so that no one may ever be able to see a cinder or stone of it. And this ought to be done for the honour of God and of Christianity, in order that God may see that we are true Christians.
Secondly, their homes should be likewise broken down and destroyed.
Thirdly, they should be deprived of their prayerbooks and talmuds in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught.
Fourthly, their rabbis must be forbidden under threats of death to teach anymore.” – Martin Luther

“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.” – Martin Luther

“I hope I shall never be so stupid as to be circumcised; I would rather cut off the left breast of my Catherine and of all women.” --- Martin Luther

“If we are to remain unsullied by the blasphemy of the Jews and not wish to take part in it, we must be separated from them and they must be driven out of the country.” – Martin Luther

Jesus did not call them Abraham's children, but a "brood of vipers" [Matt. 3:7]. Oh, that was too insulting for the noble blood and race of Israel, and they declared, "He has a demon' [Matt 11:18]. Our Lord also calls them a "brood of vipers"; furthermore in John 8 [:39,44] he states: "If you were Abraham's children ye would do what Abraham did.... You are of your father the devil. It was intolerable to them to hear that they were not Abraham's but the devil's children, nor can they bear to hear this today.------Martin Luther

Learn from this, dear Christian, what you are doing if you permit the blind Jews to mislead you. Then the saying will truly apply, "When a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into the pit" [cf. Luke 6:39]. You cannot learn anything from them except how to misunderstand the divine commandments...------Martin Luther

St. John Chrysostom: “I know that many people hold a high regard for the Jews and consider their way of life worthy of respect at the present time... This is why I am hurrying to pull up this fatal notion by the roots ... A place where a whore stands on display is a whorehouse. What is more, the synagogue is not only a whorehouse and a theater; it is also a den of thieves and a haunt of wild animals ... not the cave of a wild animal merely, but of an unclean wild animal ... When animals are unfit for work, they are marked for slaughter, and this is the very thing which the Jews have experienced. By making themselves unfit for work, they have become ready for slaughter. This is why Christ said: “as for my enemies, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them and slay them before me’ (Luke 19.27).”

Therefore be on your guard against the Jews, knowing that wherever they have their synagogues, nothing is found but a den of devils in which sheer self-glory, conceit, lies, blasphemy, and defaming of God and men are practiced most maliciously and veheming his eyes on them.---------Martin Luther

Moreover, they are nothing but thieves and robbers who daily eat no morsel and wear no thread of clothing which they have not stolen and pilfered from us by means of their accursed usury. Thus they live from day to day, together with wife and child, by theft and robbery, as arch-thieves and robbers, in the most impenitent security.
--------Martin Luther

However, they have not acquired a perfect mastery of the art of lying; they lie so clumsily and ineptly that anyone who is just a little observant can easily detect it.

But for us Christians they stand as a terrifying example of God's wrath.-----Martin Luther

...but then eject them forever from this country. For, as we have heard, God's anger with them is so intense that gentle mercy will only tend to make them worse and worse, while sharp mercy will reform them but little. Therefore, in any case, away with them!-------Martin Luther

However, we must avoid confirming them in their wanton lying, slandering, cursing, and defaming. Nor dare we make ourselves partners in their devilish ranting and raving by shielding and protecting them, by giving them food, drink, and shelter, or by other neighborly acts..------Martin Luther

If we wish to wash our hands of the Jews' blasphemy and not share in their guilt, we have to part company with them. They must be driven from our country.-----Martin Luther

They [rulers] must act like a good physician who, when gangrene has set in proceeds without mercy to cut, saw, and burn flesh, veins, bone, and marrow. Such a procedure must also be followed in this instance. Burn down their synagogues, forbid all that I enumerated earlier, force them to work, and deal harshly with them, as Moses did...

If this does not help we must drive them out like mad dogs.----Martin Luther

Martin Luther: [ in his last sermon, four days before he died, ] called for practical measures: burn their synagogues, confiscate all books in Hebrew, prohibit Jewish prayers, force them to do manual labour, and drive them out of Germany.

With all due respect, while Luther's anti-Semitic doctrines are indisputable, he was simply continuing to spread the cancer of hatred of the Jews which had already infected the Catholic Church for centuries.

And while the Lutheran Church today is certainly not at the top of the list of anti-Semitic religious organizations of Western Civilization ( the Catholic Church still holds that unenviable title ) their theological stance can hardly be described as pro-Israel.

Kudos on your research, though! :-)

"No slander against Luther has ever gone unanswered. As the charges against Luther have become stereotyped, so the rejoinder cannot hope to bring forward any new facts. But it seems necessary that each generation in the Church Militant be put through the old drills, and learn its fruitful lessons of spiritual adversity. Thus even these polemical exchanges between Catholics and Protestants become blessings in disguise. But they do not affect Luther. The sublime figure of the courageous confessor of Christ that has stood towering in the annals of the Christian Church for four hundred years stands unshaken, silent, and grand, despite the froth that is dashed against its base and the lightning from angry clouds that strikes its top."

Yes, in fact the Nazis quoted your citations verbatim to justify the holocaust. The father of Protestantism was obviously being led by the devil. Here are some of the things he said about the Bible. "If you understand the Gospel rightly, I beseech you not to believe that it can be carried on without tumult, scandal, sedition. ... The word of God is a sword, is war, is ruin, is scandal." Source: Letter of Martin Luther to Georg Spalatin, February 1520 "The Word of God can never be advanced without whirlwind, tumult, and danger ... One must either despair of peace and tranquility or else deny the Word. War is of the Lord who did not come to send peace. Take care not to hope that the cause of Christ can be advanced in the world peacefully and sweetly, since you see the battle has been waged with his own blood and that of the martyrs." Source: Letter of Martin Luther to Georg Spalatin, February 1520 "If we punish thieves with the yoke, highwaymen with the sword, and heretics with fire, why do we not rather assault these monsters of perdition, these cardinals, these popes, and the whole swarm of the Roman Sodom, who corrupt youth and the Church of God? Why do we not rather assault them with arms and wash our hands in their blood?" Source: Martin Luther, On the Pope as an Infallible Teacher, 25 June 1520 "All the strife and the wars of the Old Testament prefigured the preaching of the Gospel which must produce strife, dissension, disputes, disturbance. Such was the condition of Christendom when it was at its best, in the times of the apostles and martyrs. That is a blessed dissension, disturbance, and commotion which is produced by the Word of God; it is the beginning of true faith and of war against false faith; it is the coming again of the days of suffering and persecution and the right condition of Christendom."

Martin Luther was an evil anti-Semite who would have made a perfect Nazi. If he'd been around during WW2 he would probably have sat at Hitler's right hand. How people can continue to venerate this monster baffles me. Just another good example of Christians who don't research history for themselves but do and read and think what they're told. It's just chilling.

You posted this question and these comments a few months ago. You appear to be a hate-mongerer.
If you ever went to a Lutheran church, you would know that absolutely nothing negative about the Jewish people is taught there.
You should be ashamed of yourself for spreading this trash.

Which holocaust? The Islamic one in Turkey a century ago?Remember? The Moslem hordes slaughtering Christians and dipping their turbans in Christian blood[as imitated by Shriners with their red fez caps]?Luther knew what he was talking about. And Hitler and most Nazis were Catholics, not Protestants anyhow!

The Catholics only recanted their decrees against the Jews for deicide in 1965. (2nd Vatican). All Catholics were antisemitic by Papal decree until then. It was one of the reasons they supported Hitler's policy of expelling the Jews from Europe. They thought that it was going to be by deportation instead of extermination though..

No matter how much the Christians like to deny it the Nazis were a Christian political party;

Anyone who follows any teachings--by him or Mohamed or Osama bin Laden or Hitler or anyone else--that tell people to harm others because they are different is wrong. In fact, anyone who decides to torture and kill people for "good" reasons is wrong. That's not how civilized people handle differences in the world. Someone who follows the positive teachings of Luther or Mohamed is not a terrorist.

"Terrorist" is applied to people who intentionally try to instill terror into the hearts and minds of their enemies. Their goal in commiting a crime--such as the shameful act against the Twin Towers--is to try to make their enemies submit to terror and fear. It isn't about winning strategic battles to win a war. It isn't about showing the world right, as opposed to wrong.

Thankfully, citizens of the United States and the United Kingdom don't submit to terror. We react to it--to put an end to it--but we don't let our hearts and minds be shackled by fear. People who resort to terror have already admitted through their choice of actions that they cannot overcome through logical thought or moral right. So they resort to violence and terror.

Very interesting. The Nazis were obviously not the only ones who hated Jews. But ultimately Hitler and his associates are responsible for their crimes and you can't really blame Luther.
If these quotes are really from him then I am grateful for your bringing it to light. It appears he had a "dark side".
