Very good question. Beliefs of the spiritual warfare are very mixed. I personally believe that the devil and demons are always trying to bring us down and make us vulnerable. I also believe that the enemy can place thoughts in our mind, but we have the authority to rebuke any evil power against us in the name of Jesus. The Bible does say that our temptations are brought from our humanly desires, but He always gives us a way out and never lets us have more than we can handle. I think the enemy uses our temptations against us to try to get us to fall and sin.

By all means YES! The Devil, Satan, your adversary is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. The devil never rest. He is on the job night and day trying to destroy our testimony!

Devils know us personally and have as their goal the misery of mankind.

They only have power over us as we allow it through our choices.

Their temptations are almost constant, and are personalized to each human. As we submit to temptation and commit sin, we lose freedom. As we resist temptation and turn away from our sins, we gain more freedom, more strength, more peace, and come closer to God and His amazing, unbounded love.

The devil likes nothing more than to see us fall away from God. Resist temptation.

Oh, most definitely! He knows who we are as individuals and tries to destroy us according to how we can be destroyed most quickly and most effectively... temptation is the least of satan's schemes, He favors fear, manipulation, and getting people to believe lies. He can also use other people who are open to his influence to try to get them to influence those HE cannot directly influence.

We come to this earth lost because of our sin nature. Satan's purpose is to lie to us in order to keep us from coming to Jesus and from being obedient to God.

Our only victory is in and because of Jesus' sacrificial death to take our place for our sin nature and our sins. We do not have any power to save ourselves either by our actions or by our avoidance of temptation.

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

i believe the perception of demons makes them very real. it's the notion that demons are out to do us bad. those of us that put stock in that go around looking for bad things to blame on demons.

unless you count other people as demons. in which case, i know several that plague me. lol.
