I have a friend that was a LDS addict. He would use weekly and there was nothing we could do to help him. When he was a teenager he would always take a Book of Mormon into the restroom and do Brigham knows what for hours. He went through a temple garment phase where he would buy lots of Mormon underwear and wear it while watching HBO (maybe Big Love or something). What can we do to help LDS addicts?

Im a so called "atheist" I dont believe in a living, breathing individual that makes decisions on my life. I was raised Catholic... and have felt the harsh reality of life over and over again, and regardless of my prayer, sh!t still happens.....

Anyways, I look at myself as a good person in most ways. I am caring, and I devote my life to my girlfriend, school, and an overall better life. I often help my neighbor who got his leg blown off in a car accident, and periodically help with chores in my neighborhood. Every year I donate to some charity.... small sometimes.. larger in othrers, and I try to be an awesome person. I dont steal.. Im rarely jealous.. and im usually happy. If i fancy a person., I put them first. Im a pro-life dog lover.... and i behold life for the fullest it us.

Saying that, I think most would agree I am at least a half decent person....

So, IF, as Christians would say, there is this judgment day, will God send me to hell because I dont believe in "him"?

The first Gospel, Mark, was first committed to paper 40 years after Jesus's crucifiction, in Rome, in ancient Greek. Jesus spoke Aramaic. The other three Gospels were written after Mark.

Whether you believe that the Gospels are Jesus's Word or not is irrelevant to this question; I'm just wondering how many people know that the Gospels were transmitted orally and translated into a different language for many years before the first Gospel, Mark, was committed to paper in Rome, which is hundreds of miles from Jerusalem?

I accept what the Bible says and I believe that even though you can be a good person without being a Christian, if you do not accept Jesus as your savior you will go to Hell forever when you die.

This hits home with me especially since my brother is an atheist. He has been one for over ten years. Every SINGLE time I try to bring up religion he shuts off and doesn't listen. I don't know what else to do. He says there is no way he could ever come back to Christianity without any significant scientific evidence.

I am worried about him. He is a good person. He does volunteer work and he is a good father. There is about a ten year difference between our ages and he helped me out when our parents got a divorce. I don't want him to go to Hell. What would happen if he got in a car wreck and died tomorrow?

Has anyone else gone through this?

Some Christians stand by the King James Version of the Bible as the ultimate authority, but others revile it suggesting that it has too much of King James' bias in the translation.

What is it about the KJV that these other Christians don't like? Could you provide me some examples of what wasn't translated properly? Anything important left out, or anything extra added? I just want to know why some have a problem with it. Thanks.

Under the guise of the "War on Terror" Christians will be establishing more and more "security" devices and yet they talk as if it the system of the beast is being established by someone else......

The False Messiah will become the leader of Israel and Christians are the best workers he has right now !

They have been infiltrated and deceived.

I think no one actually knows. Do we have a time frame on when the first gospel (Mark) was written. There is so much conflicting data on the internet.

Yes, I am an atheist taking a Bible ministries class in college.

I'm watching Untold Stories of the E.R and they mentioned they can't give blood products or restart his breathing if he stops breathing.

Are these beliefs true? If so, why do they believe this? Are there other aversions to medical treatment within the religion?

By the way, I ask this in total respect, with no intent to offend or criticize, but just to understand what the beliefs are.
