I recently read that the pagans are protesting over the Simpson painting in a field next to their sacred feature. They said they`d send rain to wash it away. So I think the pagans could be to blame for the floods, unless it`s just a coincidence! What do you think?

...i just saw it on Yahoo News. I am sad, but i prayed to Jesus to take her to heaven and out of pain, just a few days ago. Not like she needs any prayers to get into heaven, but lets pray for her family.God bless her family and give them strength. She was a wonderful person, who gave me faith in real "Christians" and not those phoney hypocrites that are too plentiful. GOD BLESS TAMMY FAYE!!!!

I have thought a lot about the Rapture, and as Much as I would love to go,part of me doesnt want to, I want to stay and help those left behind find the Lord, I feel like I am being selfish to go to heaven and leave so many lost behind. is this normal for all of us? or am I just weird?

Did you know that the Devil is not mentioned anywhere in the Old Testament? Sure, there's a fellow called "Satan" in the book of Job, but he's far from being the Prince of Darkness and arch-Enemy of Jehovah. Instead, the "Satan" in that story is just a heavenly prosecutor who tests Job's faith, at Jehovah's command. No, the idea of the Devil doesn't show up in the Bible until the New Testament.

But did you know that there is not a SINGLE verse in the entire New Testament which refers to the Devil as an angel? It says that He "masquerades as an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14), but that's quite different from actually BEING an angel of light. It also indicates, in passages like Matthew 25:41, that He has angels in His service. But nowhere in the entire book does it actually say that HE is an angel!

The New Testament uses a number of titles to describe the Devil - perhaps the most prominent being "the prince of this world" (John 12:31) - but the only part where it actually describes what the Devil IS, in and of Himself, is Revelation 12:9:

"The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray."

That's right, folks. The Biblical Devil is not an angel or a satyr, but a DRAGON. And the writers of the Bible were not the first ones in history to talk about a "great dragon," either.

many other Christians know where the Bible came from. I am not talking about 'from God' or from the Aposiles because I want to know how may other Christians really know how the Book came to be.

This doctrine gained popularity in the 1830s, and more recently in the 1970s, with proponents of the premillenialist, and in particular the dispensationalist, interpretations of scripture.

I was interested in having a discussion with a person with an opposite view point, and I did not mean to offend you.

I sincerely apologize if I did so in any way.

I am straight. Suppose my parents want me to be gay. I have two choices. I can either (1) obey them and be gay or (2) disobey them and not be gay.

If I go with the first option and be gay, I am going against God because I am gay.

1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

However, if I go with option two, disobey my parents, and be straight, then I also go against God because I disobey my parents.

Exodus 20:12, "Honour thy father and thy mother."

Ephesians 6:1-3, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother."

So in this situation, no matter what, it seems as if I am a sinner. What do I do?

what are you take on spouses/partners who aren't christians? Do you think you should still be with them- and pray for their salvation? or do you just decide that right off the bat- if someone doesn't share your religious views- you aren't going to date them? I'm really struggling with this right now. I am a christian and he is not. We're not married but have 2 children. For a long time i 'lost' who i was- and now am getting back to how i was- espeically spiritualy. He doesn't care what i do- he's not controlling or anything- everything else between us is great- but im really starting to crave wanting to share all the great things we have with someone who is a believer as well and take our relationship to the highest and greatest level. Just curious what your opinions / experience is.

It's true ^^. Unlike Chiristianity, and islam, Judhism, they always fight each other over the land of Isreal.
Buddah and Hindu never fought each other, Yoga is crinically proven in scientific way, it is a devin spirtiual to becoming healthy. FAt people are white people, and look at em, they pray and they still ARE FAT!
Did, God make white people fat. No, they made themselves that way. They pray and it does nothing but brings them in PURE EXTACY.

Name 2 other religions that never fought any relgion?

not, here stupid.

How many of you who are christians are spirit filled? And for those of you who are christian- but not spirit filled- why do you not agree/believe in it? Those of you who are spirit filled- do you practice spiritual warfar (ie casting out demons etc) or walking around your property lines and praying/anointing with oil? I am a spirit filled christian and was quite ignorant to the fact for many years that not all christians are spirit filled- just sitting here thinking about it- thanks!

I attended a beach BBQ's tonight hosted by my church's singles fellowship and bible study. A married couple showed up with their child. That is not the only time that has happened. Last year several couples showed up for a 4th of July singles BBQ. The church flyer and emails were clear enough saying the BBQ tonight was for the singles fellowship. I felt it was offensive, disrespectful and in poor taste. Especially when they cuddled around the fire pit. They should attend the married couples fellowship or family events. Should I speak to my pastor about it?

Back when I was being raised catholic I asked several priests about this issue and never received a satisfactory response.

I posed it thusly:

Suppose a tribe of cannibals living in the wild. They live a good life, are good tribesmen and help thier neighbors. They war with thier rivals for hunting grounds and honor. They have never been introduced to Christianity. Do they go to heaven or hell, or nowhere?

The priests said they would go to heaven assuming they lived thier life as was accepted by local custom and law.

I then asked to imaging a missionary comes across the tribe, and attempts to convert them to christianity. Since the tribe has never heard of this thing, and it goes against thier tradition and culture, they do not convert. Would they still go to heaven?

The priests all say no. They would go to hell because they were introduced to christ and denied him.

That's not a religion I want to be a part of. I'm Discordian and loving it, but I'm the only one I know.
