for all those that are trying to say i'm bashing christians..i'm not my mother is christian and i love my mother more than anything the point i was trying to make with my little ramble was that Christians should really look at why their being bashed by other people SOME NOT ALL have been bashing pagans (and other religions) for awhile and alot pagans are getting sick of it.And don't tell me they don't i just saw somebody trying to blame the floods on pagans on here.As for burning people i know of atleast two people whose families have tried to burn them although most just disown them which is bad too.Alot of pagans won't even admit their pagan because they don't want to hear things like "devil worshipper" which were not.And no i don't encourage bashing christians i think its wrong but the point i was trying to make is you have to fix one to fix the other SO maybe if a little less christians (and other religions) stopped bashing us we would stop bashing them.

Oh Kiley, it's like tag team wrestling. You ask a nice polite Q and all the rabid ones appear. You point out that it ain't nothing more than they've throw at us, and a whole new group of them show up, who have no idea what your talking about..."Didn't see that."
I've found quite a few who really like hanging with us "bad guys". The tolerant ones, know it's not aimed at them, the others will put on their Holier than Thou and swear they have the right to suffer the witch not to live...says so right there in the book!
Karma...it's coming back to haunt them.

This is a stupid question. There is no moral equivalency between inquisitions and message boards. There is no point to asking this question except to make a passive aggressive swipe at the Christians that are on Y!Answers.
Why not attack the underpinings of Christianity? Why not an actual intellectual assault on the foundations of Christian morality or the insufficiency of the Christian worldview given expanding knowledge of the universe? No, you've gotta buy into the cult of the victim - "Look at me I'm being persecuted. And you're one of those bad bad baddies that persecuted me. See... how do you like being made fun of... on an anonymous computer discussion system... really... hurts."
Why is it so much easier to be victims?
Everyone freakin' does it, I guess. Christians, Muslims, Jews -why shouldn't we do it?
Until we pagans cut this out, no one is ever going to take us seriously. Hell, I have a hard time taking us seriously when I hear us say idiotic crap like this.
Hail Satan,
Lazarus

I am not hurt by the hate just concerned that people with real sensitive honest questions will never get asked. We can not pretend to know what people are going through in their life but the fear of ridicule hopefully wont stop people with true life important questions. Hopefully we all can realize some sensitivity and treat people with the same care we would like afforded to our own loved ones. This is directed to the real questions not the nuckleheads that are up past their bed time.

What is weird is that I work with a girl who is a Pagan and I am christian. I have been nothing but nice to her. She is starting to open up her heart a little and I feel that love is the answer. Not anger. We are all brothers and sisters. Why hurt each other?

I say I'm not hurt. If someone has the need to cut down my religion because of either something lacking in their life, or a revenge fantasy, that is their problem, not mine. On this board, there are many more people bashing religious (Christians and Muslims) people than those bashing non-religious people.

I'm a christian and I haven't really burned anything yet at all and we don't do holy water. About the hate questions, Its actually biblical that there will be people who would be rude to you since you are a Christian but then again if God is for us, who can be against us? Everyone are given the chance to say what they think..and that's what they think..right?

Dear Kiley W,
i think first your question suggets that Christians are getting what they deserve by being mis-treated because of past mistreatments.
To me- two wrongs don't make a right. And i think Christians should especially know that it's not an eye-for-an eye, and that as people who have received God's grace- they actually don't get what they deserve because of God's kindness.
I'm not sure about the Holy Water thing- it's not a regular practice of Christians to carry around holy water and hunt for people or things to spray them on. Nor is it a practice of Chrisitans to be burning people. I think if you're referring historically to the Salem Witch Hunt- most Christians know as much about that as they were taught in Elementary School.
In other words, you can't hold every group of people responsible for past hurts that their group of people might have inflicted upon other groups. Should we justify the mistreatment of Germans today because of what Hitler did? Should all white people be treated poorly because of what they did during the era of slavery? Should i as a Chinese man, mistreat Japanese people today- because of past wars that the Chinese had with Japan?
i think people are individually responsible for their actions and so my response to your question is that i feel bad for anyone that is mistreated- regardless of their religion, gender, race, etc.
Kindly,
Nickster

Uh so what some Christians did hundreds of years ago, that gives non-Christians a right to hate Christians?
I am part Indian. Does that give me a right to commit genocide against white people? No.

You are lumping all Christians into the same basket, as it were.
There are false Christs and false Christians. Try not to confuse the two.

I am not responsible for any of that.
I was not there at that time and place.
Blaming someone for their ancestors' deeds is wrong by all western, civilized standards.
All I can do is apologize if you were offended by past actions of Christians (even though I am not a Catholic by denomination)
