Im a so called "atheist" I dont believe in a living, breathing individual that makes decisions on my life. I was raised Catholic... and have felt the harsh reality of life over and over again, and regardless of my prayer, sh!t still happens.....

Anyways, I look at myself as a good person in most ways. I am caring, and I devote my life to my girlfriend, school, and an overall better life. I often help my neighbor who got his leg blown off in a car accident, and periodically help with chores in my neighborhood. Every year I donate to some charity.... small sometimes.. larger in othrers, and I try to be an awesome person. I dont steal.. Im rarely jealous.. and im usually happy. If i fancy a person., I put them first. Im a pro-life dog lover.... and i behold life for the fullest it us.

Saying that, I think most would agree I am at least a half decent person....

So, IF, as Christians would say, there is this judgment day, will God send me to hell because I dont believe in "him"?

I find it hard to beliebe, regardless of my so called good way of life, I would be sent to burn for eternity because evidence and logic point to other stuff than God?

How can a loving God do this to a loving person? Seems kind of ironic?

So you are a rebel against God who helps little old ladies across the street.
Maybe God will let you visit heaven on weekends.
Maybe Jesus was mistaken and He really didn't have to die to keep you out of hell.
Maybe God is right and maybe you are deceived.

Ok I don't even know where to start answering your question but here goes nothing. Just because you pray doesn't mean you're safe from anything bad happening to you. God doesn't always help you with your problems in the way you ask for them to be answered but he knows whats best and has a plan for you so it'll work out in the long run. Kind of like the saying if you want to make God laugh tell him your plans. But you also have the God given freewill to choose not to believe which is your choice to make. On judgement day God decides what happens to everyone so nothings for sure. So I guess in a way there is no real answer to your question because no one on earth knows.

You may well be a very decent person, I cannot say I don't know, but if as you say you are a good person, that is great, keep it up don't go away from being good, you are right though bad things do happen to all of us especially at this time of turmoil, still I don't think you realise that it is not God who is doing these bad things to us, for inmstance Millions of Dollars are spent on Arms per year and yet millions are dying from hungeryet God provides enough food to feed the whole of humaniuty, but it is humanity that distributes this food unfairly, and makes many Dollars by doing so.Many people cannot understand why God allows so much hunger in the World, yet it is humans who are letting their fellows die from hunger not God. But, No you don't have to go to hell, it is because God loves you that he has provided life for you, and keeps feeding you even though you don't know him,he still gave you the ability to enjoy life to the full. Yet, there are, many misconceptions taught in religion about God, about Jesus, about life after death, about God's divinity and identity, and even about Hell, these things are not only untrue but they also degrade the name of God, by painting him as a saddist and cruel God. Still many people believe these things.

Hey guy......pro dog and prolife...me too. Thing is, there are different levels of hell according to the bible. I don't pretend to know all about them but if you were to go to hell, I'm quite certain you would not be on the same level as Hitler etc. God doesn't want to send any to hell and I've lived rebellious for most of my life....jail etc. Now I'm in the faith and know God is real, yet I still find myself rebelling....yet now I can ask for forgiveness and try to do better. If you ask me....it's the rejection of His Sons death that damns a person, not living a perfect life. A Christians perspective.........

Hello I see the sincerity in your question and I will explain. It is not about how good we think we are it is how good are we compared to God. We are sinners, have we told a lie have we stolen something have we done many things we knew were wrong at one point or another, we are sinners and God is perfect and holy and can't allow sin into a perfect heaven it would compromise is perfect nature. But it doesnt matter because God made a way, we don't have to live the perfect life because Jesus did and God says that if you believe in Jesus and ask for him to forgive you of your sins and to believe in him and his death for our sins then we can be forgiven by God and enter heaven. If we go before God without having believed and asked Jesus for forgiveness God is going to see the sin in our life and judge us for it. We dont need to go that route friend, why dont you accept him today and pray for him to be your lord and savior , we need a savior and that savior is Jesus

Today's so called Christianity has many false doctrines which make people lose their trust in God.

The Scriptures say that God is love (1 John 4:8). A loving God wouldn't torture us an eternity. Actually that never crossed his mind. Consider the next verse:
"They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart." -- Jeremiah 7:31

The teaching of hell fire has pagan origins. In ancient Babylonian and Assyrian beliefs the “nether world . . . is pictured as a place full of horrors, and is presided over by gods and demons of great strength and fierceness.”
Early evidence of the fiery aspect of Christendom’s hell is found in the religion of ancient Egypt.

“Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul.” -- Genesis 2:7

Notice that the man himself was the soul; the soul was not immaterial, separate and distinct from the body.

“The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” -- Ezekiel 18:4, 20

A deceased person is referred to as a “dead soul.” (Num. 6:6) At death, “his spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish.” (Ps. 146:4) So when someone dies, the complete person is dead; there is nothing that remains alive and that could pass into another body.

“There is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies.” -- Ecclesiastes 3:19

As in the case of humans, nothing survives at the death of an animal. There is nothing that can experience rebirth in another body.

“All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol, the place to which you are going.” -- Ecclesiastes 9:10

It is not into another body but into Sheol, the common grave of mankind, that the dead go.

I can only answer for myself. I do not believe in a literal burning eternal hell. I really think most Christians just give lip service to it because it's religiously(politically) correct. Can you honestly believe that God so loved the world that He would burn 99 %. I couldn't love a God like that and there is no God like that. He loves us all so much and we are all in his hands.

The way I see it, as an Atheist, and not a Nihilist, You believe in good in general, and not just one person over all. If there was a judgment day, I feel that God or some higher power would see your good intentions, and despite you "don't believe in them" you would still be saved.

I haven't been to church in forever, but I'm still a religious person, so I hope I helped you, and if you have any more ?'s, don't hesitate to ask me. :)

People have been brainwashed into believing such a horrible thing.
HOW CAN PUNISHMENT FOR NON -BELIEF BE MORAL? Why should, people that have done nothing wrong ,( they just do not believe) , be damned , perish in eternal torment? This is such a LIE. It has been used by the churches to keep people In line.
How can they respect something like that, a God that would do such a thing?
THEY MAKE ME SICK.

I am not trying to brain-wash you cause, you can take my advice or not. But, I think you should try it out maybe just again don't give up.
email me if you want to talk more about it.

** EDIT **
I can't say you will.
But, I am telling you God will judge you.
