I and several others I know have been accused of being in league with Satan , and words to that effect
because we wish peace

it is said in Revelations that this will happen
but how does one distinguish from good thoughts and a genuine wish for peace and love and Satan himself
is it right to call everyone a demon etc for wishing such things ?

Last I checked, facts could be proven. An opinion cannot. Can't we recognize the difference. Facts are the same for everyone, as opinions are different. Different perceptions of the same facts are all equal, as long as the facts are not in dispute.

Is it arrogance?

My husband and I are in partnership with a guy who won all our trust by professing to be this great believer. However, he is the biggest con artist I have ever come across. I am so upset - I know all his lies and deceit, and I want to expose him to the authorities. Yet, I have this belief that vengeance is not mine. I must leave him in the hands of the Lord. What do I do? Am I a doormat? Must I allow him to walk over us? He has been doing this for the past three years, and I say, enough is enough. How much is enough? He is holding us ransom to all his activities, but we are simply not involved. Should I spill the beans we would probably also be implicated merely by association. It would probably also cost us our life savings to prove our innocence. What is the correct thing to do? There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way we handled things (and still do) but we are being drained - financially, spirtually and mentally. Where do I go from here? Please advise me asap.

All I want is to see people of different religions, atheists and all others debating and talking, communicating ideas and discussing them. Is that so wrong? An intelligent debate about ideas, one that doesn't include insults against the people who have the ideas!

Am I dreaming when I think people should have well thought out answers, or at least sensible questions. Something that goes beyond a cut and paste quote, an insult or catch phrase?

After all, you live in the world. Your children will live here after you are gone. Does religious belief (or lack thereof) really mean that we can't work together for the common good?

Again, how is this next verse taken out of context? The anti Islam site has it listed as a separate verse, but it follows the one I previously quoted. It's right after it.

"And slay them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out, for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. 2:191"

It's again talking about self defense. "Turn them out from where "they turned you out". If somebody takes your house, are you just going to sit there and let them, or are you going to fight them where you find them and take back your house?

Here is the verse that is right before it, talking about fighting in self-defense. What do you make of this whole situation?

"Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits, for Allah does not love transgressors. 2:190"

Everytime time, I eat a nice tasteful meal, alone, by myself. I always thanks God for the wonderful tasty meal. Does he [GOD] really hear me? And if he does, how does GOD hear people, when they talk to him, in private? This is based on what scientific technology evidence, that GOD hears us human beings?

ok so you will argue that like a painting, was created we know this because it is here, and therefore must have a creator the painter as it where but then what created god, I often here the answer 'nothing' or 'god is and has always been' but if god is so great that he can do all these things control space time etc etc etc then is it not conceivable that the universe doesn't need a creator if the universe pails into insignifigance compared to god who has no creator is it that hard to see that this universe does not need a creator at all?

I understand that not all christians think like this but either way I really do want to hear your take on it

People do it whether or not the person asking the question actually believes in the diety in question, so it doesn't seem to be just stubornly trying to convince people...

Do any of these EVER get chosen as a best answer?

Have any of these ever helped anyone with their question (which is usually determining exactly what a given group of people, other than atheists, believes)?

Have these ever convinced anyone of God's nonexistance?...

It just seems so unproductive, but so much of it happens it bewilders me....

(For the record, I am an atheist and am just refering to answers that make the statement with no humor, support, or relation to the question)

As a christian I believe in loving your neighbor (not in a lustful sense...)

I believe you should feed the hungry and clothe the poor.

I believe you should take care of the world that YHWH gave you to live in.

I believe we should be responsible with the resources we are blessed with (animals, trees, the earth et al)

I believe that a lot of people have a decent sense of what is right and what is wrong.

I believe everyone deserves love. Even the most despised person deserves love (though I admit it is hard to do sometimes with some people.) It is the human thing to do...

I believe that a lot of people have good ideas (not just christians)

I bleed red just like everyone else on this planet.

I cry tears like everyone else on this planet.

How about Buddhists, Pagans, Muslims, Atheists, etc. anything in common?
