We are living beings. We are not ghosts in a machine. You can not separate a soul from a body. I agree with the person who said that soul is just life. Thats what it is.

A soul is a life. It is not something ethereal that "leaves" the body after death. Look it up. In the KJV bible, the word translated into "soul" is "nephesh". The definition of "nephesh" is a life, a creature, or vitality. It does not indicate a separate "thing" that is apart from the body or that can be apart from the body.

Man is a spirit that lives in a body that has a soul.
Soul = seat of emotions
Spirit = God-like part, never dies
Body = tent or dust of the earth

Perhaps:
You (including your body) are a material expression of the universal life force, sometimes called "God"; apostle John called it Love. The expression is short-lived, but the life force continues on, infused through all things.
Just a thought.

Body is an extension of the soul. Body is your two-dimensional perception (of which you extrapolate a three-dimensional existence) of a ten-or-so dimensional reality.
