Its a hard thing to wrap ones head around. If were going with the "the universe is to complex to not have been designed" then the creative force must have been equally or more complex and therefore must also have been designed. What if instead of god being the end point of regressive arguments like this it is simply the universe we are already in. Big bang theory talks about what happened at specific point in time but the matter must have already existed. The definition of universe can be played around with to refute this statement but i am sure most of you are intellegent enought o understand te concept. Why does god have to be the cause of everything, why couldn't the universe the ultimate endpoint instead of god. Look at all the complex things the universe has already created? (pantheistic attitude but hey why not)

A young Christian who's just graduated top in her college is out celebrating at a bar with her friends. She's at a phase in her life where she's questioning the existance of God and has publically stated she's having problems accepting Jesus as her personal savior. In other words, her faith isn't where it should be.

A drunk atheist punk shoots her in the head for no reason. She dead. He gets arrested and, while in jail awaiting the death penalty, sincerely adopts Christianity and firmly accepts Jesus as his personal savior.

All human knowledge begins life as a theory based on intuition and some observations. Theories are invention. When they are checked against reality and for internal consistency we sometimes find that the theory holds tight. Once we become convinced that this theory is correct , we say that we have discovered something real, not that we've invented it.

Instead of saying that God is an invention you should investigate the theory.

You know, the greatest fear is fear of the unknown. Fear of that which is to be. Fear is born largely out of ignorance. Where there is knowledge, where there is understanding, there, fear cannot find a true lodgement within the heart. Learn to put fear aside. Learn to imbibe the qualities of love, tolerance, compassion, understanding, trust and faith. Allied with fact and knowledge.

well im not a christian so i wouldnt know the whole thing about sin. but some where i've heard that sex is a sin....... so if God came up with the whole rules aboue Sin, then why did he, himself impregnant mary??? let's face it naturally i dont think its possible to make baby without intercourse...and If god didnt do it with mary, then jesus would have to be a result of parthenogenesis which he would have the exact copy of mary's genetic material and that would make him a woman...>_< someone please explain.

I've heard alot of Catholics pray to certain saint for proctection and strenght and so forth, but I wonder, why would you need a saint to protect you when you are supposedly being proctected and cared for by the Almighty Himself? Is God's power not enough to Catholics?

Catechism:
"The witnesses who have preceded us into the kingdom, especially those whom the Church recognizes as saints, share in the living tradition of prayer by the example of their lives... They contemplate God, praise him and constantly care for those whom they have left on earth. Their intercession is their most exalted service to God's plan. We can and should ask them to intercede for us and for the whole world." Pg. 645, #2683 (See also Pg. 249, #956)

Why would the catechism say that saints can intercede for people, when the Bible says only Christ Jesus can?

6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

First of many Q's for catholics.

I coach a 4th grade football team and team pictures were set to be taken at 2pm. Church was out and the entire team was there except for this one young man. The Mother told me that he will not participate in his team picture or trophy presentation because this was Gods day. I almost fell out of the chair! Please leave your thoughts for this idiotic response. I'm sorry, but this young man was in tears and I knew at that point I could not hold back. I asked her if he was going to burn in hell for attending this function on Sunday. And she snapped. It was funny to listen to her rambling scripture and I finally laughed so hard my side was hurting. Look, it's everyones right to believe. Someone speak up and tell me, was I wrong for laughing while she ranted off this stupid jargon?

What is this nonsense some Christians try to push about choosing to have gay or straight sex about anyway? Why don't you choose yourself if you are that versatile... I know what is right for me, that's gay sex in a loving gay relationship, but what's your choice? Why would anyone choose what didn't have any attraction for them.

God has a purpose for everyone. Before time itself God said that He had a purpose for each one of you. But for God to truly use you the way He wants we need to sanctify ourselves from the world and for God's will. If you read Daniel 1 you find that Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-nego, would not partake of the King's food and sanctify themselves for God. We then read of the powerful things that God can do with them. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." I now ask you to consider abandoning yourselves, your carnal ways, your pride, your self-interests, and all that would hinder God and his perfect will? Will you sanctafy yourself and stand with me and say I will do what God wants me to do?

Hello all! I pray that you are all doing well today. Friends, do you have patience over pride?
Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof:
and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Ecclesiastes 7:8
A little boy was crying in the hall outside of a local bookstore. His mom wouldn't let him open the heavy glass door to help her with her arm load of books. He was wailing over and over, " I can do it myself, I can do it myself!"
This reminds me of when I get tired, hungry, or angry and pride raises its impatient voice. The emotion of self-preservation just comes naturally. I know we all have similar emotions at times. Sometimes it is all we can do to hold our tongues, to calm our thoughts. To be patient when pride is at the door and to turn our eyes off of ourselves and onto the Lord takes great effort.
The solution would be, of course, that we be on special guard in our vulnerable moments and not allow pride to have its way.
