You know, the greatest fear is fear of the unknown. Fear of that which is to be. Fear is born largely out of ignorance. Where there is knowledge, where there is understanding, there, fear cannot find a true lodgement within the heart. Learn to put fear aside. Learn to imbibe the qualities of love, tolerance, compassion, understanding, trust and faith. Allied with fact and knowledge.

I prefer to accept fear and make it a part of. I will not try to push past it, as it is impossible. I will not try to ignore it, as it can speak louder than me. I will listen to it and let it in, when it has become a part of me I will approach the situation with caution, but the situation will still be approached.

it sounds REALLY pretty!
But think about it: when are you less fearful: standing in the dark, not having a clue that there are 10 lions rushing toward you? Or standing there having to watch them coming? Sometimes it is true: if you are scared of a person and then get to know them, then the knowledge does kind of wipe out that fear. But it is not always true. The more I know, the scareder I get! You know the saying, Ignorance is bliss? Well, that is what I have found to be true. Although I do think people should learn to be more loving, compassionate, and understanding of each other. . .

Agreed.

Fear is addictive. The body experiences an adrenaline rush that is as addicting as any drug. Some feel good to be scared, (much like the "rush" one experiences after a roller coaster ride or bungee jumping). But fear is not a good thing. When we are afraid, we are not at peace. Fear creates turmoil and chaos in our lives and contributes to physical ailments and depression. The human body is not meant to live in a state of fear. Adrenaline was programmed for emergency situations only. Yet people are purposely subjecting themselves to fear and anxiety situations every single day. It is no wonder our health suffers.

Once we start releasing our hold on fear, we will find the world to be brighter, friendlier, and happier. We will be more at peace and feel better physically as well as emotionally and mentally. Living in fear is a choice, a destructive one. We should not let it live our lives for us.

Fear is not knowing, but moreover assuming something you do not know for sure and usually scares you. Feel the fear and do it anyway I say. The best achievements in my life have been when have bit the bullet of fear and rode it's wave like a pro surfer, I have had the best results that way.

Allow me to add something else to the 'ignorance'. Control; For some (not all) not 'controlling' things in the future bothers them, even some 'so-called' 'Christians'. Other 'Christians' are very comfortable with the idea of Jesus lead, self follows (Psalms 23:4).

I cannot conquer. the more I know, the more likely I am to dislike it. the less I know, the more tolerant I am. the greatest fear for me is the fear of the known. if I know a lion is much stronger than me, i know it's healthy, I know it's hungry and I know it's claws are sharp.... i guarantee you; I will be much more afraid than if I thought the opposite. if it were the opposite, then I wouldn't be afraid until I knew.

or maybe I'm just a special case

It's true. As to whose knowledge white feather would be speaking of our own and not someone elses. It helps teach people about other beliefs.

The true trick is to understand that all is not warm and fuzzy in the Universe and to then, not be afraid. Because if it kills me, then so be it.

Yeah but whose "fact and knowledge?" If you are talking about the supposed "truth" of religion then count me out.
