Yes. Sadly the bible says that even when they stand before Him, there will still be those so arrogant that they will reject Him even then.
Miranda needs to read her bible. Jesus was from the very beginning with God, was God and is God. John 1

For those who do believe that, then yes I think they are being naive.
EDIT: Is Grazie serious?
(People in Africa are dying from aids because the Catholic's banned the use of condoms????!!!) That is .... that is.... I am speechless. I am not Catholic and that alone demonstrates shocking misunderstanding of the epidemic of aids. No condoms? Give me a break.

There is very little evidence to support the existence of a Jesus Christ. If he did exist, however, he was one of thousands at the time who was thought to be the son of God.
God is a man-made construct, necessary at that time, but not now.
It's a bit ironic to claim that man killed Jesus when Christians have been killing people for thousands of years. Indeed, Africans are being killed by the aids virus now because Catholic missionaries ban the use of condoms!
And you wonder why us atheists get upset?

I think if the unbelievers saw Jesus today, they'd be down on their knees begging for mercy in a heartbeat.

Wow. You're so right. You know everything. Someone told you something, and you believed it. You believed it, and you put your life on it. Why? Because everyone else says it's true. Brainwashed. You make yourself believe that some bullshit is true. Shame on your parents for not giving you free will or an open mind. Shame on the brainwashers who have been brainwashed.
Go learn something. Maybe you'll see that Jesus isn't the only one who performed miracles; died for 3 days, and then was resurrected. Maybe you'll learn that Jesus' story is trite; recycled. Maybe you'll REALIZE that it all came from something else. Maybe you'll go learn something: something that wasn't injected in your brain from some dumbasses.
You make yourself see it all.
But if that's not what you wanted to 'hear':
People killed him because he claimed the name of "God". How would you feel if Jesus never came until today? How would you feel if you never knew about him, and he claimed the name of your god?
Or:
What if Jesus was a test? What if your true god came to you today in place of someone else, CLAIMING GOD?
You'd think otherwise, wouldn't you?

Depends on what I saw.
Would you stop believing if you could go back in time and see things weren't exactly as the Bible recorded them? Like if you went back and saw that Jesus was married, or if he never performed miracles?

It's hard! That's why we walk by faith and Not by sight! Yes even the people who walked with him on earth didn't believe. But it is important for them now, because He is the only way to Heaven!

Jesus of Nazareth was going against the grain of an established govt and that is what got him killed. He was popular no doubt because many will rally behind one that champions the cause of the downtrodden and the 'haves' decided that was enough and had him killed to quell a social rebellion.
The miracles and such, they came later when people decided to write down their thoughts. It's amazing how much people can embellish when trying to push their own agenda. After all, Geoffrey of Monmouth did it with King Arthur.

Wow. Maybe jesus never existed? Or maybe he existed but was killed...but that would mean he never perform miracles. The romans would have no problem accepting a more powerful god.
