Is it an oppression if Islam orders women to wear hijab, and Muslim women wear it happily coz they sure they will get benefits from it?
Do you still think it's an oppression?

When a woman wear hijab but it's not her choise, but someone force her to wear, yes it's an oppression
Islam doesn't oppress her, but people around her do it

No, it's only oppression when it's forced by the government, a husband, etc.

It's also oppression to not allow a woman to wear it, such as in Turkey and France.

If a woman wants to wear it, she should be able to, and if she doesn't want to, she should be able to do that as well, without pressure.

I agree with lynus. In countries where hijab is forced, THAT is oppression and against Islam completely. Generally speaking I don't feel that hijab is meant to be oppressive at all.

are muslim women sure they will benefit from wearing the hijab? if that is so, why do they not wear them at all times?
i think maybe they wear them out of fear, and THAT is oppression.

It's only oppression if it is forced. If they want to wear it that's their business.

Maybe the woman chooses to wear it to keep from being beaten.

Unfortunately, all religions are oppressive. Each in their own way.

I never thought it was when the women choose to wear it.
