It wasn't changed by God only by man. Sunday worship was enforced by Constitine after the council of Nicea even to the point that sabbath keepers were punished by death. This is also what the Spanish inquisition was about.

Sunday is a pagan day there is no scriptural backing for keeping the day.

One can read support into anything, but most biblical scholars are of the opinion that the change is no way supported by anything except a desire by Christians to distance themselves from Judaism.

From the Catholic Press 25 August 1900: "Sunday is a Catholic institution and its claims to observance can be defended only by Catholic principles. From beginning to end of scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first."

The last day of the week is Saturday and the first day of the week is Sunday. You are correct about Constantine.

First off, forget the origins of the days of the weeks in English because English wasn't around at the time of the change. BTW, in Portuguese, the days have numbers except for Sunday (domingo = Lord's Day) and Saturday (sabado = Sabath).

As others pointed out the change reflects that Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week, designating Sunday as the Lord's Day. The New Testament makes it clear that the early disciples met on the Lord's Day amongst themselves, BUT they went to the synagogues and preached to the Jews on the Sabath.

The answer to that is in the book of Acts. The very first Christians came together on the first day of the week according to Acts, but I am too lazy to look up the chapter and verse.

Acts also records the first time the disciples were called Christians that was at Antioch. It was meant as a derogatory term, but the disciples liked it so much they accepted it and latched on to that name. It means Little Christ or like Christ depending on which scholar you believe.

The day of worship was changed from Saturday to Sunday, due to the fact that Christianity is founded on a resurrected Christ and it was on a Sunday that he arose. Now we cannot prove it was a Sunday, but over the years this has become our habit and it stuck. In the Old Testament, man was under the law, and had to abide by the law. Today we are under grace and the New Covenant, so not all of the Old Testament rules apply.

Many times in the new testament it says the believers gathered together on the Lord's day - not the sabbath.

The jewish converts kept the sabbath/7th day thing. They actually had letters written to them because they were letting the mosiac laws infilitrate the freedom they had in Christ.

Yes around Constatine. Sun day Son day
See the link? Everyone worshiped together so people would stop killing each other. They were spreading the love. Eventually that was adapted to the day Jesus rose from the dead.
