(ahem) there was no mass communication methods, so the word must have been very slow to get around. Does this mean that anyone who died before Jesus or his disciples got to them simply went to hell? Seems a bit unfair? The 'word' still hasn't reached some of the world, especially remote tribes. Are they all in hell for doing nothing wrong apart from living too far away?

How does a lifechanging event effect you? Of course I do not agree with the views of athiest but I do appreciate the fact that they have the right to believe or not believe what they like. Just as I was brought up in a Christian/ Baptist home as a todler, I also understand that athiest or those of other beliefs may have been that way since they were todlers. So here is my question for the athiest...would a lifechanging, life threatning event like a sudden death of a loved one or cancer cause you to want to turn to belief in God?

To those that do believe in God...do you think a life threatning event like death of a love one or cancer would cause you to doubt your faith in God? Do you know someone that is like this?

By no means do I have a religion; I have my own beliefs, yet they are not set in stone (open minded). I was just wondering if my beliefs were more Atheist or Agnostic.

I base my beliefs on science (factual and theoretical). I do not believe in this so called "God," but I do believe that SOMETHING started the universe (as well as possible parallel universe, etc.) billions of years ago (or more). I call whatever started this 'god', only because I have no other term. It may have been a tiny piece of matter, who knows. NO ONE KNOWS.

I believe in opposites. Eg. Without good there is no bad, and vise versa. I believe everything equals out. I do not worship any entity. And yet, I disbelieve in any gods or anything related only 99.9%, as opposed to 100%.

I need evidence that something exists, but I need evidence that something doesn't exist as well.
I can't sit here and say that there is NO god. However, I can say that any god whom anyone on earth may BELIEVE IN does not exist.

why when someone asks you a question about life or your beliefs, must you quote from scripture. Dont you have your own ideas and logic? Does it ever seem to you that by having a programmed response, even if it is based on scripture, denies you of your own thinking and beliefs? ....... have you ever thought that by denying yourself to doubt or to question things that you know in your own heart are ilogical, enable you to loose your free will and become brainwashed?

Different religions claim different shapes(forms) of God vis-a-vis there are so many who say there is no God. But definitely there is something which everyone believe to be a super power which governs the universe, everywhere. whatever happens, is the result of somebody's willingness or what is that.?

Christians follow Jesus. Jesus told us to love our neighbour and to love one another as he loved us.

Then why the vitriol on this site from some people against Catholics?

Is it not hypocritical to hate and yet call yourself a christian in the same breath?

you always say you're not judging people you're warning them, so how do you decide who to warn of impending doom in hell if you aren't judging and condemning them yourself first? you can point to the bible, but that's just a tool, you make the judgement, the decision, yourself
