No. The book of mormon picks and chooses the scriptures from the bible that mormons agree with and then they add their own crap and disillusioned interpretations. If you want a real bible that uses terminology from this day and age, get the New International version.

All Christians do not use the same Bible. If you are Catholic and order a Mormon Bible you can use it for general purposes. Many protestants convert to Catholic using the KJV because that is what they already have. The differences are very minimal with the exceptions being in the apocrypha of the Old Testament and the interpretations of what you are reading. The Bible cannot stand alone without interpretation. Catholics use the traditions of the church handed down since the time of Christ to interpret the Bible. Mormons use primarily the Book of Mormon to terpret the Bible. Some Protestants use divine revelation, tuition or instinct to interpret the Bible. The interpretation of the Bible is the greatest difference.

The reason why some people may think that not all Bible's are the same is because people have different beliefs and the wording is not exactly the same. There is an answer to both of these beliefs. First of all, the Word of God, the Bible, is the same. It doesn't change. Everything in the Bible explains the truth, and by reading and meditating on it, one can continue having faith and knowing the truth. Also, just because the wording isn't THE SAME doesn't mean that it's DIFFERENT. We have to remember that the translators weren't always the same people, so obviously the wording isn't exactly the same. They time period that it was also translated in should also be taken into consideration, since some Bibles are more accurate and easier to read than others. Unfortunately, some religions have twisted the original words so that the Bible doesn't contradict their beliefs. This therefore, means that not all Bibles are the same (unfortunately).

Each church is likely to use a different translation and footnotes. The Mormon Bible version is the King James Version and has cross-references to the Book of Mormon, etc. The Catholics use something called the New American Bible with an extensive commentary. I would recommend it over the KJV if you are Catholic.

No, of course not. There are many versions of the Holy Bible. My pick would be the King James version, or the New King James version. the Mormons added another book to the Bible (false doctrine), and the Catholics have like 7 more books in their Bible, that they added.

There are different "versions" of the Bible.
Mormons use the King James version, which is pretty standard among American christians.
The Jehovah's Witness bible is quite a bit different.
I believe that most catholics use the King James version as well, but I'm not 100% certain.

There are different translations of the Bible. Ask your priest which version he uses. Go to a Christian Book Store and ask to see the different versions and get a recommendation.
The KJV was translated in 1611 so you have to deal with an English that is no longer in use. JW translations are geared to support their doctrine so choose a good modern language translation such as the New International Version. There is also the New King James Version with modernized English. There are also translations that are all in modern English and easy to read.
This post is already too long because there are study Bibles, Bibles with the Apocryphal books etc. etc. Go to a Christian Book Store and get some help.

For the most part. The one that the Mormons put out is a King James Bible with some of their materials in it. The one that the Catholics use has some extra books in the old testament. These books are used to support the teachings of purgatory, giving money to pay for the salvation of the dead, etc.

No. Mormons use the King James Version of the Bible (and the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price). Catholics use versions which include some of the Apocryphal books that the KJV excludes.

There are over 100 different versions of the Bible.. Some are very close to others and some are quite different. Each Version tends to be the "official version" for their particular sect or denomination. This is why a lot of posts on these religious questions get attacked and rebuked, because the citers are taking THEIR scripture from a different version than the person dong the rebuking.
