Take for instance, Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Haggard, etc. Once I asked a fundamentalist about how this could possibly happen and how could these leaders be such hypocrites, her immediate answer was "They have to answer to God, not you." So if this is true, why are they so judgmental about everybody else who might be doing the same thing, for example, President Clinton, or really, just anybody else.

He is a Patron Saint. Can anyone tell me what that means? What might he be a Patron Saint of?

He is reputed to have performed several miracles. Does anyone have information on this?

Below is an example of what I know about him, but I need answers to the questions above.

St. Kieran
Feastday: September 9

St. Kieran was born in Connacht, Ireland. He was the son of Beoit, a carpenter. He studied at St. Finnian's school at Clonard and taught the daughter of the king of Cuala, as he was considered the most learned monk at Clonard. Kieran spent seven years at Inishmore on Aran with St. Enda and then went to a monastery in the center of Ireland called Isel. Forced to leave by the monks because of what they considered his excessive charity, he spent some time on Inis Aingin (Hare Island) and with eight companions, migrated to a spot on the bank of the Shannon river in Offaly, where he built a monastery that became the famous Clonmacnois, reknowned for centuries as the great center of Irish learning, and was its Abbot. Many extravagant miracles and tales are told of Kieran, who is one of the twelve apostles of Ireland. He is often called St. Kieran the Younger to distinguish him from St. Kieran of Saighir. His feast day is September 9.

Do you realise how much of "gods green earth" you destroy every year at christmas time? with wrapping and cards and stuff, also how many hungry people could you feed with the excess food you throw away? these questions don't apply to all but they do to most.

I'm not sure if it has helped me, or not. It probably has. I am a little more likely to accept some people more as legitimate human beings, and less likely to write them off, without any consideration.
It's some fascinating stuff.

Doctors say they want to have the stem cell research done for purpose of saving life. But is that true? It may be true, but it is to save life to the rich.

Just remember they said the same about HIV and CANCER. And you also see that to get access to the medication to help people to deal with it are very expensive. At the end doctor just want to make money.

As they say, they boat of a doctor is the bankruptcy of a patient.

What is your opinion about it? Do you Really think doctors wanna just help or make money?

Are you a person that used to believe in a faith that rewarded your good actions here on earth with the promise of heaven in the afterlife, and your evil-deeds with the punishment of hell?
Has your moral capacity changed since you stopped believing? Since you no longer work to do everything according to the [insert book here] of your religous faith, do your actions and decisions made here on earth reflect this change in belief?

If not, explain these, which are not explicit in the Bible:
-each indivdual is allowed to interpret Scripture by himself
-God is three in one (God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit make up the Trinity-. No where does the Bible explain the Trinity)
-Jesus had two natures (human and divine)
-We attend church on Sunday- (In the OT we are told the Sabbath is Saturday)
-The Bible was ‘compiled’ by God- (Often protestants don’t realize the Catholic Church compiled the Bible)
-Sola Scriptura is Biblical - (see Jn. 5:39- the main pirpose of the Bible is testify of Christ, and 1 Tim. 3:15- the Church is the pillar and foundation of truth)
-Pastors should be elected by church members-. . In Acts, the remaining 11 apostles fill the “seat” of Judas
-Contraception is not a sin - ALL protestant churches changed their position after 1931

1. People who tell you your deities are demons and Satanic illusions and that you'll burn forever in another religion's hell for your beliefs, or . . .

2. People who tell you your deities are superstitious fairy tales, psychotic delusions, and "the way primitive people explained natural phenomena they were too stupid to understand?"

Yes, it's the ol' "who's worse from an 'Old Ways' perspective, Buybull thumpers or Buybull burners?" question! Fire away!

Why do catholics ask a man(priest) for forgivinsee, when the bible clearly states that we must go through Jesus Christ?

Why do catholics pray to a woman born of sin(Mary) like each one of us, when again we must go through Jesus Christ?

Why is purgatory precehd when there is no mention of this in the bible?

The bible states that all sins are forgiven at the point of salvation, because Christ's death satisfied all God's wrath against sin. So why does catholicism make one go through a process meidated by the church and it's sacraments to work it off over the lifetime of the believer?

It has been reported that Tony Blair intends to convert to catholicism once he has stopped being the Prime Minister. Apparently he has been attending mass for some years but has tried to keep it quiet as it is obviously a requirement that UK Prime Ministers are fully paid up members of the Church of England.

Does his behaviour in this respect tell you anything about the man?
