yaa... cos that outlines how you behave in this one... basically if people KNOW as a FACT that there is PROOF of an afterlife chances are they'll do whatever they can to get into the GOOD one... being eternal happiness and bliss and so on and so forth which seems ideal.

What the Lord offers is more than some "magical place in the clouds". Can you honestly say that this life is all and the best there is? The afterlife is just, in a manner of speaking, a trial run for what's coming. A life of simple physical pleasures is never filling. All you do is trade empty calories from one pleasure to the next. The hole we feel is never fully filled. The Lord offers a life better than this one. He fills you up on the inside out. You won't need strippers to satisfy you anymore. You'll be satisfied with a peace that goes beyond all understanding. Those who know the Lord can look forward to more than Heaven. There's a time coming mentioned in Revelation and other books of the Bible that tells that one day this world as we know it will be gone. This world of death, sickness, lack of resources, and sin will be gone. It'll be replaced with the way the world is supposed to be. He offers a strong, young, eternal body. A body like His that'll never grow old and never die. The Earth will be made into a paradise. We'll be able to go back and forth between Heaven and Earth with no problem. You'll even have a job that you will love to do. Yes, God will give people jobs in eternity. He's the ultimate job placer. You'll have this and more. You'll have the creator of everything living here on Earth ready to speak and walk with you. Your best friend will be God Himself. Sounds magical? It's more than that. How do you get to this point? Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Then when you die and go to the afterlife you'll have a taste of what's to come before it happens. You're not just floating in clouds with nothing to do, you're standing on the edge of the best day of your life that never ends. Surrounded by friends and family and God. I've made my decision and have grandparents and a baby sister waiting for me. Hope to see you there.

Yes, we need an afterlife - no, one life is not enough. One lifetime on earth allows you to experience maybe 1% of the human experience. That is not enough for me - particularly as I think of myself as a spirit coming here for education.
Having said that, I surely don't believe in a magical place in the clouds, per se. I do think that a spirit existence is hard to conceive from this vantage point and I think the different religions try to convey the wonder and happiness of being in our native state in terms that humans can understand. I think we start as spirit, come here to learn, then go home when we die and make plans for the next lesson and return trip. It's the only thing tha makes sense to me - that justifies this enormous energy expenditure to maintain this existence.
Peace!

Life goes by too quickly and is full of strife. A person has to go through a lot of hard knocks in this life. Heaven will be a place where there is no sorrow, sickness, disease or pain. We will be able to live life with bodies that won't get sick or wear out. With minds that won't have to deal with depression, anxiety or any kind of mental illness. It will be all good and beautiful. After all I have gone through in my lifetime, I am all for the afterlife and all that it has to offer. Most important I will be able to see Jesus & God and bask in the glow of their love. I will be able to see my family again, and the child I lost. It will be a beautiful reunion.

No, we don't NEED an afterlife. What is...is. However, it's understandable why folks believe in and desire and afterlife. Death is unknown and scary. All we know is the person is gone after they die and their life as we know it ends. That is very scary to many many people, to just be gone and life over. Therefore, to believe that we will go on and this is not the end, makes everything so much better and addresses the fear. Make sense?

There are things that remain true whether we believe or not. Life after death and life before birth are examples. If great philosophers like Socrates, Pythagoras, and Plato believed, I can not pretend to be wiser or more intelligent than them. Mind you, Edison and Ford believe in it. I believe it is not a question whether we need an afterlife or not. The question is whether we need this life or not.

I usually don't think of the afterlife. I think I'll be in the ground with the rest of the dead people. If there's more, well, I hope it's better than this. I'm 35 and I do my best with the time I have. I have a 67 year old friend who feels like it might be over soon and he thinks life's too short and dying sucks. I guess I agree most days.

The Interrogator is genuinely a hundred% incorrect, and he would desire to study the e book, too.

You need an after life and get reincarnated coz u need to get rid of ur karmas.Karma, meaning ur doings, be it good or bad.You have to pay back whether it is the fruits of your good deeds or the sufferings for your bad deeds. You get eternal peace only after u get rid of all ur karmas be it in this birth or the next.
That is why God asks us not to perform any bad deeds to get rid of our karma and not add any further

How is the afterlife a "different" life... maybe it's merely the continuation of "this" life? Perhaps we're like butterfly and this world is our "cocoon".
