a person is a "top contributor" and the next day they aren't? What is that based on? Why do they take that "title" away once you have had it?

it's something like 100 best answers with higher than 10% in the category. So it's possible to lose your 'best contributor' tag if you answer enough times that aren't selected 'best answer' to drive your percentage below 10%, or if you don't answer questions for a couple weeks or so.

it varies from day to day as to who has answered more questions....... it has nothing to do with "quality" as the blog would have you believe.
